Huawei Watch GT

As far as looks go, the Huawei Watch GT incorporates touches of modern style into a timeless watch design. As far as operation goes, it's as smart and as innovative as any watch on the market. Huawei call it their finest waterproof watch to date, and here's why!

Slim and stylish

The Huawei Watch GT catches the eye with a classic round dial with ceramic bezel, stainless steel shell and DLC coating. While slim and sleek, the design is robust and boasts 50 metre waterproof construction to emphasise how durable it is.

Super sharp display

The Huawei Watch GT outstrips many of its rivals in the easy-to-read stakes thanks to a 1.39-inch AMOLED screen with 454 x 454 pixels resolution at 326ppi pixel density. All those numbers add up to a crystal-clear display.

A heart-monitoring wrist-watch

The GT gives you real time heart rate monitoring through a self-learning algorithm and some of the most innovative sensors on the market.

Having trouble sleeping?

Help might be at hand as HUAWEI TruSleep 2.0 identifies common sleep related issues. Better still, it gives you more than 200 potential solutions.

Spectacular specs

The specs on the Watch GT include GPS/GLONASS/GALILEO, Bluetooth, accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer sensors, optical heart rate sensor, ambient light sensor, barometer sensor, loudspeaker, and, as you'd expect in this day and age, multiple sports modes. You can also see notifications including messages, phone calls, alarms, plus you can set reminders.

A powerful first

The Huawei Watch GT integrates the first double chipset architecture and this gives you two weeks of life from the super-efficient 420mAh battery. The device also features 128MB internal storage and 16MB RAM for excellent, speedy performance.

This watch is stylish, stylish, and lightweight to be 46mm. However, what is really annoying is the vibration motor, which rattles like a marque when it comes to a call or a message.

Huawei Watch GT Review: Show me the apps

It feels like a watch, looks like a watch, but is the Huawei Watch GT a real smartwatch It's the question that loomed over the device throughout my time with it. Off the bat, Huawei wants users to make both a sacrifice and a commitment with its latest wearable: know that you're not getting any...

Huawei Watch GT

The Huawei Watch GT is a smartwatch in name only. It tracks fitness metrics like heart rate, activity, and sleep, and also provides detailed insight on the physical state of your body, making it a solid choice if you're looking for the features of a fitness tracker in the body of a smartwatch.

Sleek design; Excellent battery life; Solid fitness tracking

No third-party apps; Big for small wrists; Lacks NFC and Wi-Fi

Huawei Watch GT Review

Huawei's $199.99 Watch GT looks and sounds like a smartwatch, but it's really a fitness tracker in disguise. Running Huawei's barebones LiteOS operating system, there's no support for third-party apps. Instead you get activity and sleep tracking, continuous heart rate monitoring, and GPS. It's well suited for outdoor exercise, thanks to its scratch-resistant case and sport modes like trail runs and climbs. It's a solid choice if you want the functionality of a fitness tracker in the style of a smartwatch, as long as you aren't expecting too much in the latter department. Design and Display The Huawei Watch GT is surprisingly rugged given its sleek design. Its stainless steel case and ceramic bezel are wrapped in a carbon coating, making it resistant to scratches even in extreme environments. With a 5 ATM waterproof rating, you can wear it in the shower and in the pool. It comes in two color combinations—black stainless steel with a black silicone wrist strap, pictured here, or sil...

Huawei's Watch GT is a decent fitness tracker disguised as a smartwatch. While its size isn't suitable for all wrists, its GPS, durability, and long battery life make it a good companion for outdoor workouts.

No third-party apps; Big for small wrists; Lacks NFC and Wi-Fi

Huawei Watch GT Review

Huawei has decided to change things up with its 3rd iteration in their premium smartwatch lineup this time calling it the Watch GT. It looks to be more ideal for the adventurer but also the person that wants to keep track of their body ranging from their heart rate to their sleep patterns.

Instead, it aims to be a complement, with a focus primarily on fitness tracking. Sure, it can receive notifications from Android or iOS devices, but that’s about all the phone functionality you’ll find – interacting with these would just obfuscate your fitness goals as the Huawei Watch GT would see it.Running its own proprietary OS makes sure the focus stays on fitness and battery life, but does this leave users wanting for more or ...

Good looks with a solid construction + 5ATM water resistance; Near-two-week battery life; Simple, effective OS makes tracking and reviewing info quick and easy; Straight-forward companion app offers plenty of sleep insight and exercise statistics;

Consistently stuttery animations navigating through OS; No music storage or playback control; Very limited third-party app support;

Huawei Watch GT Review – A line between fitness bands and smartwatches

To sum up, the Huawei Watch GT is one good fitness tracker. When I used the Samsung Galaxy Watch , I said that it would be interesting to see Samsung make a toned-down variant of the watch for a lesser price. And this looks like just that.
