Huawei Watch 2

The Huawei Watch 2 is the follow-up to 2015's , and one of the first smartwatches to launch with . Taking a leaf out of LG's book, the Watch 2 is available in two models. There's the sportier standard Watch 2 model (€329/£329) alongside an LTE model (€379/£379), and a more traditional-looking Watch...

Comfortable and lightweight design; Android Wear 2.0 is a big improvement; Plenty of sports sensors; NFC and Android Pay convenience

Small display; Thick bezels; Uninspiring design

Huawei Watch 2 Sport Review

Huawei's Watch 2 Sport is the best Android Wear watch so far. It offers everything you may need from a smartwatch, such as actionable notifications, 4GB of storage for offline music playback, GPS, NFC for Android Pay, Google Assistant, and direct access to the Google Play Store.

Android Wear 2.0 is polished; Watch Mode offers 25-day battery life; Comfortable and lightweight; Offers array of sensors; Removable bands

Screen is too small; No rotating crown; Occasional long load times

Huawei Watch 2 review

Huawei took to the stage on Sunday 26 February 2017 to announce not only its flagship for 2017, the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus, but also its second generation smartwatch, the Huawei Watch 2.

Huawei Watch 2

And yet we can't recommend the Huawei Watch 2 unequivocally. Android Wear lags behind watchOS in the app department and it just isn't intuitive to use. And the watch itself is big and bulky, limiting your abilities for all-day wear.

Continuous heart rate monitoring; Built-in GPS and Android Pay compatibility; Accurate step and distance tracking; Good battery life

Strap feels chintzy and isn't easy to swap out; Difficult to keep track of long-term fitness progress; Wi-Fi can be finicky

Huawei Watch 2 Review

Early last year I checked out the Huawei Watch. It was Huawei's debut smartwatch, and the Chinese company went for style, using metal builds with colors like gold to try to create a smartwatch that would actually look good with a nice outfit. I wasn't totally convinced.

Excellent battery life; full set of exercise features; rated IP68 waterproof and dustproof; high quality display; fast performance; standalone GPS and NFC; can connect to Bluetooth headphones on its own

Relies too much on touch controls; needs a physical start/stop button for workouts; too expensive

Wareable

Huawei Watch 2 review

Imagine Huawei would have just revamped its simple, but slick, original Wear watch. Imagine an original Huawei Watch with Android Wear 2.0 out of the box, packing NFC for Android Pay, GPS for run tracking and a better battery life. That's what we wanted from the Huawei Watch 2.

Packed full of sensors; Battery life is impressive; Android Wear 2.0 out of the box; Plenty of fitness/tracking data

Loses the charm of the original; Fiddly to use; Build quality feels a bit cheap; Questionable heart rate data

Huawei Watch 2 Review

While I need to test more features, so far the Huawei Watch 2 lived up to my expectations, providing a great experience for everyday usage. I am a big fan of using Google assistant, a feature of Android Wear 2.0 to access all kinds of features, and specifically, to operate the navigation on Google...

Good built quality and display quality; Long battery life in Watch Mode; Multiple Workout options easily accessible; Built-in GPS; standalone Android device

A little bulky; screen-to-body ratio could be better; Companion health app could; more intuitive

Huawei Watch 2 Sport review: New tricks and 4G's a hit

As a smartwatch that will deal well with sports, the Huawei Watch 2 is actually pretty good.

Wearability and solid design; Android Wear functionality means phone-free control; 4G option; Two day battery life (on Wi-Fi only

Strap is cheap in look and feel; No rotational dial control; Battery life on 4G; Huawei Health app can be irksome

Awesome watch

Love it so far - still learning all that it can do. I had one issue with the Messenger app always telling me to install it on the phone, but it was already there. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but I don't blame the phone, I blame the Messenger app.
