In India, the IDEOS X5 is priced at Rs 14,999 while in US, it is priced at £200. The US launch and pricing aren't still made official. Ideos X5 can virtually do everything you expect from an Android (2.2) smartphone, be it the Wifi Hotspot, or 720p HD video recording or running Flash.

Recently, I've purchased the handset and honestly speaking I'm blown away with its external gaze. Its touch screen looks simply elegant in palm! Adding to this, I like its 5MP snapper and a sturdy battery backup!!

Behold the impressive Huawei IDEOS X5. It's not the fastest Android phone, doesn't have a fancy customised interface, and runs on a single-core CPU. So why do we care? The Huawei U8800 IDEOS X5 is one of the Huawei devices launched in India in December 2010 and it arrived to a full fanfare reception. Running on Android 2.2, the Huawei IDEOS X5 is a smartphone. It measures 11.6x120x62mm and weighs 130g, which is pretty heavy, even for a smartphone.

After the first day I am happy with the phone. The price corresponds to more than what just a few years ago way to pay for a basic Nokia (1300).

"Huawei Ideos X5 - something you don't want to buy."
Not too long ago I had my first Android smart-phone, which was actually the same Huawei Ideos X5, from the beginning it was quite nifty and worked well, but it only was until the first month or so.
Pros:
- Screen
Cons:
- Price
- OS
- Battery

"Huawei Ideos X5: Big Screen For A Lite Phone"
In terms of the look and feel of the phone, the X5 plays out like a ?lite? version of the HTC Desire range. It uses old Android software, there?s less processing power under the hood, it?s got a similar wide, large display, and for all that it?s half the price.
Pros:
- Large display
- simplistic, attractive design
- good battery life for Android phone
- cheap
Cons:
- Bulky size
- lacking Wi-Fi tethering

The Huawei Ideos X5 is a 120x62x11mm smartphone that sports a 3.8 touchscreen with an 800x480 pixel resolution. The screen isn't too bright or sharp, but at least it's wide. On the backend, it hides an 800MHz Qualcomm CPU, 2GB of internal memory and 512MB of RAM.
Pros:
- Large display
- simplistic, attractive design
- good battery life for Android phone
- cheap
Cons:
- Bulky size
- lacking Wi-Fi tethering
