Huawei P9 Single Sim 32GB
Huawei P9 is a 5.2-inch smartphone that was unveiled in April 2016 together with the larger P9 Plus model.

What are the differences compared to its predecessor P8? One of the main differences is the camera optics. Huawei has partnered with the well-renowned camera manufacturer Leica to improve the camera performance based on Leica's Summarit lens design. P9 sports two dual rear cameras that increase light sensitivity and improves contrast by up til 50% by employing a monochrome camera sensor that lacks RGB filter. The front camera has a resolution of 8 MP, which means that your selfies will look bright and crisp under a wide range of light conditions.

The Kirin 955 processor with 8 cores and 3 GB RAM memory ensures that the phone handles a great variety of processing tasks with impressive speeds. The phone has 32 GB storage.

Huawei P9 is one of the first phones to run Android 6.0 Marshmallows. The UI is customised by Huawei and is called EMUI. The phone is available in six different colours: haze gold, mystic silver, titanium grey, prestige gold, rose gold and ceramic white.

The battery can be recharged quickly and has a capacity of 3,000 mAh.

What about the weight with such sophisticated camera optics, fast processor and high battery capacity? This phone is remarkably light given its advanced specs and weighs only 144 gram.

Do you like the P9, but don't want to spend $700 on a phone? Then the budget version Huawei P9 Lite might be worth having a look at. It retails for less than half the price of P9.

Huawei P9 review: The flagship and the folly

Huawei has been chipping away at the flagship smartphone block for years now, gradually adding appeal to its seemingly desired western audience with each iteration. But while last year's P8 lost its way with sloppy software and knuckle-based nonsense, this year's P9 - which mimics the same handset...

Best fingerprint scanner on the market; slender design; dual camera solution is fun; microSD card expansion; ample power for all tasks

Some questionable software points; battery life not standout (as 3,000mAh would suggest); camera software (defocus) glitchy

Before Huawei's P9 was even announced the rumour mill was hard at work, spotting what appeared to be two camera sensors sitting side by side and prompting speculation that the smartphone would have two cameras.

Huawei P9 Dual Camera Phone

I have already outlined the ‘phone' part of this latest offering from Huawei on the 18th April. At the time I said I would tell you about the cameras when I had more time to study them. So here goes the camera are very good as they are made by Leica.

Huawei P9 review

When comparing the P9 to other flagships, it's important to remember the £449 price which makes it considerably cheaper than many of its rivals (but not the identically priced Nexus 6P that's also made by Huawei). Overall, we're impressed with the phone: it's well built, feels good and looks good.

The announcement of the Huawei P9 was met with much fanfare surrounding the inclusion of Leica branding. The Huawei P9 features a dual camera set-up, which was claimed to have been designed in conjunction with the historic camera manufacturer.

Huawei P9 Review

The song remains the same for Huawei with the P9. This is a really great phone, and for the everyday user, it's also one of the speediest and most powerful. But, this is priced like something more than an everyday phone, and for that reason, the GPU and display really need to be better.

Excellent CPU performance; great at multitasking; all-day battery life; very fun dual-camera system; clear calls; lots of color options; swiping down on the fingerprint sensor pulls down the notification center; runs cool and rarely overheats

GPU performance lags behind competition; display isn't great for use with VR headsets; can get scratched and dented easily; not water-resistant; no wireless charging

Huawei P9 Smartphone Review: A Step In The Right Direction

With the P9, Huawei has a flagship that matches the most powerful devices on the market that is an evident improvement compared to its predecessors, especially with its rear-facing camera.

Dual rear camera is very creative; Credible build; Solid battery; Intuitive Emotion UI

Poor GPU performance; Display lacks contrast; Confusing camera software; No 4K video recording; while Full HD video lacks quality

The Huawei P9 is a beautiful attention getter.

I got this phone the day it came out, and have not regretted it. First, it is an eye catcher! But there is more to it than looks. I decided to write a review because I felt Phone Arena's didn't give the phone a fair shake. The camera is amazing, but I want to list a few things PA left out.

Camera; Design; Simple Mode User Interface; Shrink Screen; Built in knock screen functionality; Scrolling Screen Shot; Screen Video; Call Recording

Slippery when on shoulder; No NFC

Huawei P9 Review: What We Like, What We Don't

There's a lot to like about the Huawei P9, particularly if you focus on its outstanding camera. The Leica-engineered two-camera setup delivers crisp, detailed shots along with several modes that should please more demanding photographers.

Terrific dual Leica camera; Bright; colorful display; Good performance; Nicely positioned fingerprint reader

Subpar battery life; Ho-hum specs compared with similarly priced phones; Slick edges make the phone hard to grip
