Huawei P20 Pro 128GB
Some are describing the 6.1-inch Huawei P20 Pro's Leica triple camera as the best smartphone camera on the market, but there are plenty of other features in this flagship model.

Triple Treat Camera

The three-camera system really does take amazing photos and is worthy of all the plaudits. The move towards intelligent photography and the 40 MP RGB camera, means incredible shots can be taken in all sorts of conditions, including low light. It's worth noting that the base model Huawei P20 "only" sports two rear cameras, so the triple camera is a point of differentiation between the two phones.

Getting Close Up And Personal

A complaint about many smartphone cameras is the lack of zoom. That complaint is rendered obsolete in the P20 Pro which features Leica's 5X Hybrid Zoom. Even if you're taking a shot from some distance, this zoom lens system will allow you to capture fantastic detail and clarity.

The front selfie camera has a resolution of 24 MP. This is a high-resolution for a front camera, but Huawei the phone relies on it for speedy face recognition to unlock the phone.

What Colour Is It?

Luminescent colour progression is another talking point, and one that makes the P20 Pro stand out in a crowded smartphone market. The unique gradient colour finish is available in some models and is a big seller for customers who want their phone to appear different to the rest.

Dazzling Display

Huawei's FullView Display is at its best when seen on the P20 Pro's 6.1-inch OLED display. Huawei claim the range and clarity of colours makes this their best screen to date, while the edgeless fingerprint sensor with smart navigation boosts functionality as well.

Plenty Of Power

The Huawei P20 Pro has a huge battery, enabling you to enjoy that amazing camera and other features for longer. The 4,000 mAh battery is not only power-packed, but it can also fast-charge thanks to Huawei SuperCharge. The Kirin 970 processor is the same chip that Mate 10 Pro employs.

Huawei P20 Pro Review: The best sort of excess

What with all the attention the Huawei P20 Pro has captured lately, you'd think the company would be having a good year. Then again, high-profile criticism by the US government hasn't exactly done wonders for the Chinese phone-maker's sales, nor its scuppered carrier deals.

Well-constructed and great color options; Triple camera system is legitimately impressive; Display is bright and has great viewing angles; Two day battery life is class-leading

No official US availability; EMUI atop Android Oreo still feels unnecessary; No support for wireless charging; Camera AI can be heavy-handed with its processing

Advanced camera; Shoots stills in pitch dark; Super slo-mo video; Slick design; Fast processor; Responsive performer; Great battery life

Too big for some hands; No wireless charging; Pricier than other Huawei phones; Huawei's take on Android not stylish

Despite having sold its phones here for years, 2018 was supposed to be Huawei's big coming out party in the U.S. At CES, I sat through a presentation about how Huawei was expanding into home wifi and had even signed Wonder Woman herself as the company's new brand ambassador.

Gorgeous design; fantastic battery life; and it captures the best pics you can get from a smartphone yet No wireless charging or headphone jack; isn't available in the US

Smartphone manufacturers take flagships very seriously, primarily because these devices represent their full potential. So when a new flagship is launched, we generally see stunning displays, powerful processors, and improved cameras.

Well, the Huawei P20 Pro comes with a premium and impressive design. The fingerprint sensor and face unlock is pretty quick in unlocking the smartphone. The software is barely bloated, and even though the UI is not impressive as stock Android that many prefer, it is not bad either.

Huawei P20 Pro review: This phone has it all, even things you don't want

I'm torn on the P20 Pro's hardware. The Twilight colorway is so, so cool, but the mirror finish is slippery and quick to smudge. The OLED panel is sharp and has pleasing colors, but the notch feels unnecessary.

Design Sleek glass chassis; The Twilight colorway is amazing, Display The OLED panel looks fantastic with vibrant colors and perfect viewing angles, Camera Triple camera system takes excellent photos with the aid of AI and 3x zoom.

Hyper-glossy glass The P20 Pro is among the slipperiest phones I've used, and it picks up fingerprints in an instant, Headphone jack There isn't one; Get used to it, The notch The screen bezels aren't symmetrical between the top and the sides, and there's a chin, Face unlock It just uses the...

Huawei P20 Pro Review – the triple-camera smartphone

The Huawei P20 Pro is undoubtedly the company's best phone to-date, with improvements to the camera, software and a swanky new design.

Gorgeous new colour option; Excellent battery life; Photo zoom is class-leading; Low-light camera performance is also impressive; Software is stable and has some useful features; Fast facial recognition and fingerprint scanner; Snappy performance

Photos are over-processed; Night mode is hit and miss; Screen isn't as good as the S9

Huawei P20 Pro

When weighing up Huawei's latest flagship smartphones, the P20 and P20 Pro , the decision is fairly straightforward when it comes to which one to pick - the triple camera sporting P20 Pro of course.

Superb camera performance; Fast multitasking; Eye catching design; Well priced

Finicky back cover; Cumbersome UI

Huawei P20 Pro review – the three-camera iPhone killer

With the P20 Pro Huawei has finally produced something that I would recommend over competitors regardless of the price. While not cheap, costing £800, in some ways you get a better experience than rivals costing £200 more.

long battery life; great design; brilliant camera; good screen; stand-out colour options; water resistance; Android 8.1 Oreo; great performance

no headphone socket; no microSD card slot; no wireless charging; screen not the highest resolution; no Bluetooth 5 support

Huawei has certainly come up with something special with the P20 Pro. It delivers features customers are looking for including that amazing triple lens camera system. The P20 Pro's overall look and feel, features and performance will be enough lure customers away from other brands.
