The Huawei Mate 9 isn't what you'd call an eye-catcher. The device looks quite inconspicuous, features a discrete exterior and lacks that certain wow factor. On the flipside of the coin: it does have a very clean and practical design.

Id say its reasonably priced, while ive seen similair quality for cheaper. Ncix shipping and service was good and I cant complain. Seems durable and is built well Overall what you would expect.
Huawei has come leaps and bounds in the UK market and despite launching a number of smartphones in 2016, from the flagship Huawei P9 and P9 Plus to the mid-range Huawei Nova and Nova Plus , but that wasn't enough.
It doesn't have the flame-prone Note 7's beautiful lines and curves, but if you're after a high-performance big-screened phone that won't set your pants on fire, the Mate 9 is a great option.
The Huawei Mate 9 has more power than you'll need; a camera that's great for arty shots and a battery that won't quit on you by dinner
Its screen is only full HD and its design is utterly forgettable
It's a great price for such a piece of gear;
It's got an excelent display and the photos it takes are very good;
It's very snappy and runs everything
It's a bit too big;
There are better software interface out there..
The Huawei Mate 9 excels as a piece of hardware. The display is big and bright. The processor performs admirably and is relatively fast albeit with an occasionally slowdown. The camera produces high quality pictures. The fingerprint sensor is fast and accurate.
The Huawei Mate 9 is a very large smartphone that does a great job of not feeling so in use. The curved back, minimal body to screen ratio and solid build mean it's easier to hold onto than you might expect.
expandable storage; dual-sim; great battery life; excellent fingerprint scanner; good camera; massive screen
big; heavy; screen only 1080p
It misses a trick by being 1080p rather than QHD, and the exact UK price is yet to be confirmed, so that could affect its desirability. But, even with the high price it's likely to have, this is one of the very best Android phablets currently available, and could even tempt any Apple fans who want...
+ Great camera; + Huge screen; + Android Nougat
- Only 1080p; - Likely high price; - Not water resistant
Naturally, the camera of the Huawei Mate 9's dual-lens main camera is the highlight of the phone. More specifically, the bigger highlight of the phone's main camera is its 20MP monochrome camera sensor, which has gained Leica's approval and takes some absolutely gorgeous photos as well.
New HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC is very snappy; Leica-approved dual-camera is capable of taking impressive photographs; EMUI 5.0 user interface blends seamlessly with the Android 7.0 Nougat OS; Battery life on phone is impressive
Pricetag still a bit on the high side
The Huawei Mate 9 isn't quite the essential purchase that Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 was (before the whole burny screamy saga), but it is a very good super-sized handset.
Great software; Premium finish; Excellent battery life
