PS3 Review - 'Hitman: Absolution'

It has been six years since gamers took control of Agent 47. At the time, the freedom and strict operating parameters made Hitman: Blood Money the best in the series while still managing to alienate newcomers.

PlayStation 3 Review: Hitman: Absolution

Prior to Hitman: Absolution , the last time we saw Agent 47 on a console was back in 2006 with Hitman: Blood Money . The cloned assassin was, at one point, a huge hit with gamers and a major motion picture based on the character was on the big screens a half-decade ago.

E3 2011: Hitman Absolution Shows How a Bong Can be a Deadly Weapon

This isn't an anti-drug PSA; we learn that in the hands of Agent 47, anything is an implement of death.

A great game with great amounts of violence.

Hitman Absolution is definitely not a game for kids. The game's brutal violence with the likes of throat-slitting, bashing people's heads in, and one remarkably dark scene where an orphanage is raided and the sisters are all massacred proves this game is definitely not for kids.

worth the wait

The game has a very clever story, nice graphics, solid frame rate, picture looks very smooth. The game has the best sound effects I have ever heard in any video game before. It has 5 levels of difficulty for every type of player. Conversations in this game are just the best.

Hitman: Absolution review – successful hit

A franchise reboot that retains most of what was great about the originals, and most of what was bad too – but the sum total is still on target.

Excellent stealth mechanics, some great sandbox stages, and impressively inventive deaths; Great graphics and Contracts mode is an interesting curio

Occasionally linear level design and too many non-assassination missions; Flawed save/checkpoint system; Horrible story, in more ways than one

Hitman: Absolution review

Agent 47 doesn't begin Hitman: Absolution with amnesia, but the six years that have passed since we last took control of him in Blood Money do seem to have dulled his creators' recollections of what made him so popular in the first place.
