Avoid

This device got me through turning a tall stack of VCR cassettes into MPEG movies, but it was frustrating. If I stopped the VCR while it was being displayed in the accompanying WinTV application, the WinTV crashed. I have no idea how one would actually watch TV, as advertised, with this software.

When it works, it works well; I liked the MPEG format (*.mpg), pretty universal; Made MPEG video of a quality commensurate with the quality of the VCR tape

Crashes often; Spotty drivers that drop out; When it crashes, it stops Windows from shutting down; When stopping or pausing the VCR tape, it crashes the program; When recording, it takes several seconds for it to buffer itself.

Great hardware Bad software

I bought this product so I could record some old VHS tapes on my computer. It was an easy setup and Install. The device itself is nice and produces a great picture. The software is a little complicated and takes some time to learn.

I was researching for more than a 6 months for the right product and this is the best that you could think of for live streaming with your handycam. Worth the money and I would recommend this product to all.

This is an awesome product; Just what I was looking for to connect my Handycam to my laptop for livestreaming; Very simple and it is user friendly

The installation manual in English could have been good; but it is very intuitive with the CD installation

Not compatible with Windows Encoder Version 9

Only reason we bought this product was that is was the closest item Hauppauge made that we could find that would replace our 4 year old Hauppauge composite video input that would work with Windows Encoder ver 9. Still can not find what product will work and who sales it.

Great for purpose, worked exactly as I'd hoped

I needed a simple device which would allow me to stream live video to my desktop during a web conference so that others on the conferece could see what we were doing in real time.

Works as advertised; fairly priced

Took a while to figure out getting the video to respond without delay

It works but it ain't pretty

Installed it and the pilot light didn't come on but the recording light did. Updated the drivers and software and the pilot light comes on now but not the recording light. It records though. Sometimes there is estraneous noise like the wire is acting like an antenna and sometimes there isn't.

Inexpensive Video Capture

I needed an inexpensive video capture device to feed a camcorder as a Webcam and use for Skype. This does it, but I wish it would also change the aspect ratio from HD 16: 9 to SD 4: 3 on the fly. This is the only inexpensive video capture device I could find that supports live feed.

Easy to use; Fair quality; Inexpensive; Live video feed; Video Capture

No 16-9 to 4-3 conversion; No aspect ratio scaling
