Halo 4

Even with its challenging gameplay, spectacular atmosphere, awesome moments in the narrative, great music and voiceovers, Halo 4 doesn't make that bold step everyone's been hoping for.

The Covenant and the Prometheans are relentless foes; spectacular action scenes; storyline is finally beginning to take some shape with compelling characters set in a premise we've been following for over 10 years; first-class voiceovers; Neil Davidge's new soundtrack is a great addition to the...

Single-player's a bit on the short side; all these years have passed and we're still fighting the same foes

Halo 4 Review (Xbox 360)

Halo 4 is also proof that even if one changes development teams and then throws the game characters into a new situation, the core structure of a franchise rarely evolves in radical ways and that publishers like Microsoft are more concerned with solid sales than with evolving the content they are...

+ The return of Master Chief; + Level design; + Arena battles

- Story lacks coherence; - Spartan Ops has limited appeal

Halo 4 review

Master Chief bursts back onto the scene in an offering that makes a few key changes, injecting the story with much-needed pathos, and tweaking the gameplay in exciting and challenging ways. Halo 4 is a familiar game, in ways both welcome and otherwise.

A genuine attempt at giving a Halo story some emotional maturity; Spectacular visuals; A sensational Neil Davidge score; Tweaks to game design encourages more dynamic, cerebral gameplay.

Cornball dialogue and wide-eyed emoting oversells things; Disappointingly formulaic, anticlimactic narrative; Too many story threads are left without development.

Wonderful replacement for current game system

Excellent for the price. Transferring games from old system didn't work as well as I'd like, I have to unlock many games again, will probably have to...

Fair price

Some games still freeze when playing

Halo 4. The Journey Continues

Where do I even start? I was first introduced to this game with the introduction of Halo.

New guns; new maps; new power ups; new vehicles; new campaign; new enemies; new everything

Not too many cons about this game.

When my son unwrapped this game, the 2nd disc was missing! I did not ever think that this could happen from Walmart!!!! He received the game but the 2nd disc was missing. That is the reason for the 4 stars and not 5 stars. Otherwise, my son loves this game.

Halo 4 review: A visually-stunning reprise of classic Halo moments

One of the best multiplayer shooters on 360 but Reach has the better Firefight and Halo 3 has the better campaign.

Superb multiplayer; New guns feel better than ever; Looks incredible

Too linear for a Halo game; Scale sacrificed for visuals

Its Still Halo

Following the highly publicised change of developer the gaming world was rightly curious as to how one of its biggest selling franchises would fare following the departure of its creators Bungie.

A good star for 343 Industries

Loved the campaign, even though it's a bit short. Also, it's dumb that I have to be logged in to Xbox live to play the campaign. Whatever. PVP mode is fun.

"Same path better playability."

Awesome upgrades with sound and graphics. Some surprises with fighting styles and gameplay. Only let down is it is still a point A to Point B game. Well worth having in the collection or a great starting point for anyone new to the franchise. Long live Cortana.
