My review is simple. Probably, you played the original game Half Life 2 before the episode one (obviously). And I played 5 additionnal hours of the original game. Same ennemies. Same guns. Same ambiance. Practically the same place. The episode one is an extension with nothing of new.

Review – Half-Life 2: Episode One

Hey Matt: I was running a 9800 Pro as well, with a gig or ram.  Definitely wasn't a hardware issue.  Having played PC games for quite a many years, I understand they can't get it perfect.  No one will.

Half-Life 2: Episode 1 PC Review

It's amazing how fast time travels. Just over 18 months ago I was playing one of the most technically advanced games at that time, in terms of physics, graphics and facial expression technology.

Half-Life 2: Episode One

Ah, Half-Life: the only game universe that nobody ever seems to have a bad word for. And it's no surprise, with better voice acting, a better plot, better graphics and game engine, and better gameplay than any other first-person shooter in the history of the world.

A short, but welcome addition to Half Life series.

I actually enjoyed this PC game more than the original full version Half Life 2. Pros: 1.) Lots of action with Gordon and Alyx trying to get out of City 17. 2.) Great graphic and sound if you have the system to run them properly. 3.) The last 1/2 of the game is an example of FPS gaming at its best.

It goes without saying that Half-Life 2 is quite possibly the best single-player FPS experience ever crafted for the PC. Four years in the making, ground-breaking physics, stunning visuals, non-stop action and a stellar story, to boot all coalesced to create one of the most talked about games in...

Playing Half-Life 2 again; The short game time lends itself to more frenzied play; Great on-the-go narrative; No system updates required; Best five hours on the PC I've spent in ages

Short; Have to wait six months for the next installment; Alyx can sometimes be the cause of your death

Half-Life 2: Episode One Review

Among the benefits of seeing behind-closed-doors sessions at E3 is the chance to see things long before the general public catches wind of what developers have in the pipeline. One of the prime examples this year was EA It Before writing up the score for the expansion I first went back and reviewed...

If you had any doubts about the merit of episodic content, Half-Life 2: Episode One should convince you otherwise.
