HP ZBook 15u G5 (FHD, i7-8550U) Workstation Review

The ZBook 1xu series is at the lower end of HP workstation devices. These models are based on the EliteBook to save costs. Find out in this review of the ZBook 15u G5 why this concept still doesn't work.

high-quality metal case; decent connectivity; good selection of ports and security features; always stays cool; three-year warranty; impressive glass touchpad

the display is not good enough for a workstation; below average CPU performance; GPU throttling in everyday use; PointStick is worse than a TrackPoint; no SD card reader; frustrating fan control; coil whine; poor upgradability for a workstation

HP makes some beautiful premium laptops - just look at the Spectre lineup - alongside a wide range of other products, like gaming desktops, portable 2-in-1s, and workstations. The last in that list doesn't exactly sound like it's something sexy, but HP has attempted to bridge the gap between premium...

Quality build; slick design; Full keyboard and large touchpad; Lots of ports; Plenty of security features

Upgradeability could be a lot better; Battery life is disappointing; Pricey

Not worth at that price

I don't think you need to pay so much to buy a low configuration computer like this.
