HP Sprocket Photo Printer review: Small and simple camera phone printing

Like with other digital cameras, I'd wager that most photos you take with your phone never make their way into print. That's a shame since your photos (or some of them, at least) are meant to be seen, not just live in a gadget's memory.

If you can afford its initial and ongoing costs and aren't looking to hang your work in a museum, the HP Sprocket Photo Printer is a simple and enjoyable way to get photos off your phone.

The HP Sprocket is exceptionally easy to use and prints straight from your phone; The image editing tools bring fun to an otherwise ordinary task.

Print quality is average and the cost of replacement paper can add up quickly.

It is slightly larger than a deck of cards and connects to your mobile device via Bluetooth. Users can print photos from the camera roll and also link their Facebook, Instagram and Google Photo accounts so they can also print pictures that have already been shared or stored in the cloud.

Sprocket is a fun and convenient little photo printer (with an emphasis on little), that provides reasonable, but not mindblowing print quality, in a system that's easy to like.

Nice compact printer

Great small printer. Easy to use, great small prints. The do come out a little dark but there are instructions to fix this. I have not worked with this printer very much since I just got it, but I like it. I like the compact size.

Fun Device

If you need something like this, go for it. Personally I wouldn't purchase, but I do understand this is a fairly niche product and that there are people that would truly see themselves using this frequently.

Quick and easy to setup and use; Printer and paper both feel well made; Watching it print the first time feels great, definitely a fun device to bring with friends; Battery life and charging are good, battery life lasts long enough to print before needing a refill, or on standby for days while you...

Photo quality is lacking; Images come through clear, but color always runs a bit brownish in light areas; No wall charger, just a usb cable included; If planning to buy as a gift item, make sure you come prepared with how to use the product, as there isn't anything in the box to tell you.

Instant gratification

So adorable! Hard to resist this little printer. The photos measure 3x2 and are of acceptable clarity and color (unless you are Ansel Adams). They print out borderless, so everything seems to fit. The film is glossy and thin. The size of the printer is what made it such a draw for me.

small size; acceptable print quality; works with various devices; prints quickly and quietly

didn't include carrying case

Love it.

This is an awesome little printer. I love that it dont use ink. Picture quality isn't the best but it's convenient and easy to use and the having the choice of using your pics as stickers or just normal photos is a great bonus.
