Scanner all-in-one easy to use HP system. Does film, slides, 3D objects, regular scanning with depth of field as good as my older all-in-one HP copiers.

Even at NewEgg's full price, this is a tremendous value. At $80 for the recertified unit, it's an absolute STEAL!
Very quiet, reasonably fast, extremely high-quality scans; The built-in slide scanner is a nice bonus, too
It would be nice to have a plain cover to hide the slide slot when not using it; I've had it show through a couple of scans of thin media and have taken to covering small items with a sheet of card stock to compensate
A scanner for me is not really as important except if you want to upload a document faster. The only thing I know before that needs to be scan are merely documents. But right now, even pictures can be scanned.
Had one just like it, finally quit working, loved the quality of the scan and copy function. Good flexibility for hi res scans.
Finally! A scanner that does what it says it will do. It scans 5 slides at a time (not 2, not 4, but 5!) and does is quickly. It also scans negatives, documents, and photos. I was able to hook it up to my older Dell Notebook and it was scanning away in minutes. This is a great scanner for the price.
Accurate Color; Easy Setup; Excellent Software; Good Bit Depth; Good Resolution; Widely Compatible; Works on Network
Is not compatible with Vista - lots of forums and blogs with frustrated G4010 Vista users. I took mine back today. HP support not helpful.
excellent product. bought to scan old photos and redimension them and their perfect, even those I had to restore the colour.
The HP Scanjet G4050 offers six-color scanning for excellent scan color and does a good job on both prints and film, including mounted slides. Advantages: Six-color scanning yields excellent color quality. Scans photographic prints and film. Can scan up to 16 slides at once.
This unit is good and serviceable at the cost. I've been using it for 10 months, from 10 to 30 scans a day, 2 to 3 days a week. It is thus far trouble free. Set-up is easy, a simple USB connection. No compatibility problems with my graphic or word processing programs.
The HP Scanjet is really a 1,2,3 operation. All I wanted was a piece of equipment that I could easily set up and produce out of sight scanned images. The HP Scanjet delivered it big time. I can even scan transparencies and 35 mm slides. The HP software is in my opinion one of the best on the market.
