Looks good on paper

I bought this because the specs looked good. I knew the wifi might have problems, but that's a $20 fix. However, right out of the box this thing crashed multiple times an hour without any clear indication of why. The wifi was terrible and wouldn't stay connected.

The design looks nice and feels nice; the specs look very good on paper

The wifi really is trash, as are the BIOS; DOES NOT HAVE ADVERTISED FINGERPRINT READER

HP ProBook 450 G6 (Core i7-8565U, GeForce MX130) Laptop Review

compact and light; fast Wi-Fi; numerous maintenance options; nimble SSD; fan silent at idle; decent display; full-sized SD card reader; good battery life

case creaks when pressure is applied; no Thunderbolt 3; no USB Gen 2; comes with only one-year warranty; dim display; Core i7-8565U throttles under sustained load; limited GPU performance because of single-channel mode; fan pulsates slightly; high bottom case temperatures

While I am pleased with the performance, I was very disappointed to discover that the laptop was not equipped with facial or fingerprint recognition. While this was not a show-stopper, I would not have purchased it had the description stated such. This is a step backwards in technology.

Computer runs slow

My computer just arrived a few days ago. From the start the computer ran slow. I have no idea why. My internet speed is the fastest available from our internet provider and other computers in the house that are much older run much faster than my new computer.

HP ProBook 450 G6 15.6" FHD Laptop with i7 & NVIDIA? GeForce? MX130

Not as fast as I would have expected considering the spec and SSD

Upgraded from the 2016 version - much lighter and working really well -- only downside is not enough connectors - should have HDMI &/or more than 2 USB but overall, very happy with my little new laptop. So much lighter to carry everywhere!

Good bang for the buck

The laptop came with the features I wanted most: 16GB RAM, a solid state hard drive and a relatively large screen. Its performance to-date (~6 wks) has been flawless. My only complaint is that some of the keys on the keyboard are half-size.
