HP Photosmart 5520 e-All-in-One

Designed primarily for home use, without office-centric features like faxing or an automatic document feeder, the HP Photosmart 5520 e-All-in-One ($129.99 direct) is a different kind of multifunction printer. On the one hand it offers a low-end set of features in many ways.

Touch-screen control panel; Wi-Fi; Prints through the cloud; Duplexes (prints on both sides of a page)

No Ethernet connector; No PictBridge support

HP Photosmart 5520 Review

Fast, easy to set up and boasting a wide array of mobile printing options, the HP Photosmart 5520 ($109) has the makings of a great all-in-one printer. A built-in touch screen makes this device a cinch to use, and the 5520 supports Apple's AirPrint as well as a printing app for phones and tablets...

Easy setup; Huge number of printing options; Fast wireless printing speed; Relatively inexpensive ink cartridges

Images and text appear grainy on regular paper; Overly bright photos; Very loud when loading paper

HP Photosmart 5520

The HP Photosmart 5520 is an inexpensive multifunction printer that offers built-in duplexing, a touch panel and ePrint capabilities. It also provides reliable and good looking output but it lacks an automatic document feeder and the scanner lid hinge does not float to accomodate thicker items.

Affordable initial cost & ink; Wireless ePrint capabilities; Built-in duplexing; Very good output quality

Scanner lid hinge does not float; No automatic document feeder

Don't Waste Your Money

Easy to set up but the quality of this printer is horrible!! NOT A PHOTO PRINTING PRINTER.. VERY LOW QUALITY. Have to clean ever time before printing one picture.

Compact Design; Easy To Set Up

Poor print quality; Too much ink used; Unreliable

You should consider avoiding this printer...

Well, what can I say? I've had Hp printers for years and this is the first one to absolutely fail me when I needed it most (two kids in grade school with papers due in the morning). I print and the pages come out partially printed. THEN the low ink warning pops up.

a sweet little gadget with personality

A little noisy, but it doesn't seem to be hurting itself when it grinds a bit. It likes to bounce around some also, but stays on its stand. Print quality is excellent. Use a lighter bond paper, I use 20.

I really like the quality and the performance of this printer.

I actually got this printer as a Christmas gift and really liked the quality of the pictures printed and the ease of setting up and actually using the printer. However, the pick-up rollers stopped working about a year after I got it.

TOTAL GARBAGE

I bought this printer in a hurry as my other all in one had died (also an HP - 2yrs old). This printer worked fine for about 4 months and then everything went wrong. The cable went bad and kept crashing my laptop.

great printer let down by the out 'tray'

Can someone explain why HP have suddenly started putting a pathetically flimsy little plastic flip out arm - that barely holds 10 sheets of paper let alone the 15 it claims - on all their domestic printers ? They've finally started using seperate inks for each colour.
