A Step Closer to greatness

I brought this Laptop for my daughter to upgrade her old HP Pavilion G7 that she got back in 2012 due to weight and age since she is now in college and needed a laptop that was both light and easy to you use on the go go and of course the touchscreen option.

Simple fix to noisy 16gb optane memory fan

Good PC, except that the units sold with 16gb of optane memory and an auxiliary cooling fan are very noisy because the fan runs at full speed whenever the PC is turned on. To remedy this inexpensively, go to the processor power management maximum processor state settings and reduce from 100% down to...

Solid performer

I've been a fan of HP machines for years and this laptop does not disappoint. It's lightweight, durable and well equipped. The touch pad is missing the traditional "mouse" buttons (similar to a Macbook Pro) so it took a little getting used to but I like the cleaner look of the keyboard.

Easy to use

This laptop is so easy to set up and use that I would recommend it to anyone, whether they are tech savvy or not. The touch screen eliminates the need for a mouse or to try to use that annoying little pad to navigate. It comes preloaded with Windows 10 and automatically walks you through setup.

A decent spec laptop

Bought this on sale and it was probably the best value laptop for that price range. It's very responsive and looks decent as well. Good sized screen and a full keyboard. It took me time to get used to the keyboard due to the type of keys.

HP Pavilion 15-cs0053cl (i5-8250U, HD) Laptop Review

A key detractor of previous Pavilion 15 laptops was the unattractive budget design language. A quick look at the old 2015 Pavilion 15 versus a MacBook Pro shows why the Pavilion can retail for less than half the price of the Apple.

GeForce MX150 and AMD Ryzen 5 options; relatively cool core temperatures; good Turbo Boost performance; sleeker; Envy-like design; full-size NumPad; narrow bezels; USB Type-C; quiet fan

dim backlight; poor outdoor visibility, slow primary HDD performance, system fan is always active, no USB Type-C charging, soft keyboard feedback, difficult serviceability, soft trackpad keys, lid tends to teeter, 1x1 WLAN module, poor 768p display, slow SD reader

Bad whirring nose

Nice features and fast but unfortunately sent it back, it has a loud whirring noise from start up I couldn't live with especially in a quiet environment
