As a budget inkjet multifunction printer (MFP) geared to home offices, the HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One has a solid if not splashy set of MFP features. It provides good overall output quality, though it was relatively slow, and showed a tendency to quickly run through color ink.
35-sheet ADF; Automatic duplexer; Prints, copies, scans, and faxes; Good range of mobile printing features; Qualifies for HP Instant Ink program
Guzzles color ink; Slow; No Ethernet; Lacks port for USB thumb drive
HP's Officejet printers are, as the name implies, generally high-end inkjet printers aimed at business users who need a fast and versatile office printer. The new Officejet 4630 includes all the features that office users are likely to need, but is very much designed for smaller home offices...
initial purchase price is very competitive; built-in Wi-fi and AirPrint; fax and document feeder
expensive ink cartridges – especially for black – no ethernet interface
HP's Officejet 4630 is an inkjet MFP aimed at home office users, and has support for printing, scanning, copying and faxing, along with wireless networking and duplex (double-sided) printing.
Great value, and great features. Instant Ink service is what sold me on the HP printer, but the features are easy to use, and as it turns out the Android app works very well too. HP email to printer service is also a benefit when wanting to send items to print from remote locations.
Great looks and specifications, but you can buy a better home office MFP than this
Perfect printer for occasional home use. There was a problem getting to print from our HP Windows 10 desk top computer. I could not fix the problem but HP support fixed it but it took them over an hour using their direct connect system to our computer.
So far it works great! Easy to set up and the ink usage isn't horrible. It looks like the cartridges aren't that expensive either.
If purchasing remanufactured printer products, I would recommend if you have issues with the printer not printing correctly and after following the manufacturer's steps before returning the item, try to replace the ink supplied to see if it resolved the issue.
Easy and quick to set up and install
Issue with black ink provided with the printer (ink appeared to be used previously) - had to purchase new black ink cartridge to get it to print in black correctly
Spent 3 Hours trying to get the scanning function to work. 3 Hours later I still have no scanner and am completely frustrated. Will be returning printer.
