Nice printer but beware the blinking power light

So far it seems like a decent, basic printer that will work well. Just be willing to accept the blinking power light or plan to cover the power button somehow to make it stop.

Small footprint; simple setup; prints fast

When the printer goes into sleep mode the power light on the front of the printer blinks every 3-seconds; It's very bright and it cannot be disabled; HP Support staff (in the product forums) have been unhelpful basically saying this is a "feature" than cannot be disabled.

Setup

Easy to setup, rich set of features, fast printing, and great print quality. This is an outstanding example of HP's LaserJet engineering done well.

HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401dn

The HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401dn monochrome laser printer is slow, but it?s a decent fit for micro and small offices that care more output quality than speed.

High-quality text; Ethernet; Built-in duplexer and 300-sheet capacity standard; 800-sheet maximum

Slow

HP LaserJet Pro M401

The $399 HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401dw bundles all of HP's latest technologies into a tight package; you get Smart Install that eliminates the hassle of installing off a driver disc, ePrint remote access, and walk-up printing through the USB port on the front, but the 3.5-inch touch-screen display...

The HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401dw's direct USB port; wireless connectivity; and remote printing features offer a variety of ways to interact with the printer

HP Smart Install only works with Windows; and the flimsy touch-screen display impedes usability

While it won't win any speed records, this auto-duplexing laser offers superior print quality at a reasonable price. (The per-page cost is decent, but less so if you print a lot of pages.)

Excellent print quality; Color touch screen; Auto-duplexing ADF; Large paper-input capacity; EPrint and AirPrint support

Relatively slow for its class; No Wi-Fi connectivity

No Complaints

Had printer for 8 months now, and I don't use very often. You would think something like this not getting used regularly would be bad for it, but the positive note is the ink (and printer) works as well as it did 8 months ago. I highly recommend!

"Speed, efficiency and a Big Smile!!!"

Being a purchaser of HP products for the majority of my life, i must say that this printer is a big improvement on my old model, a Laserjet 4000. I was after a model spec for my small office which provided me with speed (i get around 27-30 pages per minute), yet was efficient and had a really good...

Fast; Efficient; very good new wireless features..

Maybe the size; but not too bad

Appreciation: HP LaserJet Pro M402dn Monochrome Printer,...

The printer is a great machine in terms of time efficiency and time saving. How I got it is a little bit of headaches. Received the first one but it failed to install the software on my PC. Contacted HP Canada and was told the printer's warranty had expired 2 months earlier.
