Was it worth the extra money

NewEgg of course rocks! FedEx is worth the extra money as UPS is absolutely horrid! For those wondering, I bought this calc for my Managerial Finance intro class (BBA core class). I first bought a TI thirty-dollar one from Wal-Mart..

One word--yes! This is a GREAT calculator; I knew, as many others knew, that this calculator would do much more than they'd ever need it to; So! Hehe; The ease of using this calculator far exceeded my expectations; An absolutely great financial calculator for anyone interested in getting one.

It wasn't free None

Poor keyboard

I have been using this calc for work for a little over a year. It has been awesome except for the keyboard not picking up on the first thing I enter. It will do this almost every time. I have got used to it but that doesn't make it right. For $100 the thing should work.

Lightweight

Before buying this calculator I was worried by the many folks who felt that they keys on the device were unreliable or hard to press, but now having this device I'm quite happy with it. In fairness, I have to say that I don't press the keys rapidly -- so I can't say that the unhappy folks are wrong.

Don't buy HP calculators made in China

I am a long-time user of HP financial and scientific calculators, including 12b, 17bII, and 11. HP 17bII calculators deserve a 5 star rating IF -- big IF -- they are manufactured anywhere, except China.

Simply the Best

The HP17BII+ is simply the best financial/business calculator you can buy! The RPN math function makes calculating a long series of numbers much faster. It can also be used in traditional algebratic functions for those who have not yet taken the few minutes to learn RPN.

Fine Calculator

I need to use a financial calculator periodically, but not on a daily basis. That means I can use a calculator that is easy to use. Over the years I have had 3 HP-12C's (and they all still work great, and the original is still the best built calculator I have ever had).

2 Line display makes it easy to use; solid feel to keyboard and easy for 1 hand data entry; easily programmable; can use rpn or algebraic data entry

Very lightweight

Brings back memories of DOS days

Determine what you need to calculate, and try to find simplest calculator that can handle the job. "Menu" driven is not always easier in a limited calculator space!

Countless business functions

Difficult to use

HP makes the best calculators. Not even close. Industry standard for finance. Still.
