Decent for everyday use
Windows 8 ruined this laptop, I have seen earlier versions of this laptop that ran windows 7 and they were awesome, they were the reason I wanted to get this laptop, but Microsoft decided to ruin it with Windows 8 and since it is mostly an OS for tablets so many software changes had to be made that
Pros:
- This is a laptop for everyday consumers
- this is for someone who does not know much about computers
Cons:
- I got this laptop a few months ago and right out of the box I noticed how big it was, defiantly not an easy to carry laptop and it weighs a fair amount too so keep that in mind
- Also I was extremely disappointed with Windows 8, it eats up CPU and ram like crazy and all the background processes that...

HP Envy 17 review
Overall, the Envy 17 looks to be an elegant, relatively compact laptop (as desktop replacement systems go) for digital photographers, music buffs, video enthusiasts and gamers. Just make sure you keep it cool!

HP Envy 17: HP's MacBook Pro Killer?
As we mentioned before, HP's Envy line of notebooks are often touted in the comments on our reviews as being alternatives to Apple's MacBook Pro series. In reviewing the Envy 17 at least, we find that's not entirely a fair comparison.

HP Envy 17 Laptop Review
In an era where truly upscale laptops seem like an endangered species, it's always nice to run across a well-built system with few compromises, such as the HP Envy 17. We've always liked the Envy line in general, and the two most-recent models, the 14-inch Envy 14 and this 17-inch Envy 17, manage to...

HP Envy 17 Review
. HP highlights that the HP Envy 17 features DDR5 VRAM plus Intel Core i5 or Core i7 CPUs, all housed in a stunning, laser-etched aluminum body. And this is our only consumer laptop that supports up to three external displays.

Envy 17
When it comes to selecting our favorite mainstream Windows laptops these days the HP Envy 14 is pretty much at the tippy top of the list. (Hey, we don't just give anything away to our college-bound readers, you know?
Pros:
- Beautiful
- well-built chassis
- Stunning 17.3-inch HD display
- Seriously speedy performance / graphics
Cons:
- Touchpad is still annoying
- Palmrest can get quite toasty
- Heavier than other desktop replacements

HP Envy 17-3000 Review
The Envy 17-3000 is a well thought out and designed laptop and credit goes to the engineers and designers at HP. It's a lucky thing HP didn't dump their PC business as they do a good job of being very competitive on features, design and price on the premium end. For those that don't want the Mac
Pros:
- Pleasing design
- Well built with durable all metal case and chassis
- Best audio we've ever seen from a laptop
- Nice bright and vibrant screen
- Excellent performance with Intel Core i7 and AMD 7690M graphics
Cons:
- Touchpad could be improved
- right mouse button not responsive
- Top of the lid shows fingerprints easily
- RAID setup not supported
- despite dual hard drives

HP Envy 17: defying the skeptics
When it comes to reviewing laptops I prefer to stay away because they're basically all the same, with a few exceptions. So when it came time to replace my ageing Acer Aspire with Core i5, I had a long hard look at the options.

To borrow (approximately) the words from an Amazon USA user: "HP seems to follow the industrial trend that makes benefit out of perishable items whose limited life forces you to buy a newer one in a short time".
Pros:
- Most everything
Cons:
- Reheating issues
