After having been stubborn and having windows 7 for 5 years, I've decided that it was time to move on, although my last HP was my baby, I'm in college and needed something newer. I got this and there are some things to get used to but as my friend told me ( has the same one ) play with it.

Very Impressed
This is a great notebook and well worth the money. This is a lovely slim and sleek notebook and is uber quick to start up. I am a great fan of Beats and HP have integrated their design to every level across the machine. Me and my family have had great fun with Leap Motion.

HP Envy 17-1050ea
HP says this laptop is the pinnacle of computing luxury, and we're inclined to agree. It'll cost you dearly, but the Envy 17 offers great design and performance
Cons:
- Runs very hot
- peculiar arrow keys

HP Envy 17 Leap Motion SE Notebook: Australian Review
What happens when you take a desktop replacement laptop and add in Leap Motion's fingertip-tracking, movement-control system? You get the special edition HP Envy 17. You can control this laptop without even touching it . But is an otherwise pretty basic consumer notebook worth $2499?

The latest from HP is an extremely powerful Windows 8 based laptop. It has been included with some top notch specs and sports a massive 17.3 inch Full HD Touch Screen. The LEAP Motion is a cool addition and takes the computing to a step closer to the future technology, where we would be witnessing...
Pros:
- High Definition Screen
- Good Audio quality
- Lots of Storage Space
- Snappy Performance
- Well Built
- LEAP Motion is fun to use
Cons:
- Glossy
- reflective display
- Screen lid felt weak
- Too bulky to carry around

HP Envy 17 Leap Motion SE
The HP Envy 17 is a high-class desktop replacement with a trick up its sleeve – or, more accurately, in its wrist-rest. It's the first laptop we've seen with Leap Motion, which means games and apps can be controlled with mid-air gestures. In every other department the Envy 17 fits the bill.
Pros:
- Fast and good for games
- Bright
- high-contrast
- Full HD screen
- Good keyboard with numberpad
- Smart design
Cons:
- Terrible Leap Motion controls
- Overheating internals
- Poor trackpad buttons
- Mediocre battery life
- Poor screen colour accuracy

HP Envy 17 Leap Motion Special Edition review
The Envy 17 TouchSmart in 2012 was a pretty impressive beast, but the new version now includes a built-in Leap Motion sensor, which attempts to bring 3D motion control à la Minority Report to laptops and other devices.
Pros:
- Very fast performance
- fine screen
- Leap Motion technology
Cons:
- Big and heavy
- poor battery life
