Buy it Buy Buy It .Great Great design, great performance
I' so lucky and privileged to be the first to do the review of the piece of art at Amazon; I hold my heart before buying because there was no review about the great and lovely Notebook, but now I very very happy I made the move and bought this laptop.

Nice, powerful laptop
Just bought this laptop last weekend and it is pretty good. Touch screen works great, but it takes awhile getting used to windows 8. There is a definite learning curve to it. No ssd in this computer, but boot up times still good. Excellent computer to multitask and do photoshop.

HP Envy 17
With the 17-inch category proving to be surprisingly popular, the Envy 17 has a couple of flaws that prevent it from being one of the best. The reliance upon mechanical drives in our sample definitely slowed down system responsiveness in day-to-day use, while the budget GPU barely coped with games.
Pros:
- Solid CPU performance
- Large amount of storage
- Attractive display
Cons:
- Woeful game performance
- Huge and heavy

" Solid, Fast, Screen is amazing "
I would rate it as solidly built. The I7 processor is screaming fast and I upgraded to the non-glare full HD screen. Wow what a screen. I added the Nvidia video card and finally someone saw the light and build a 17 in touch screen.

Decent for everyday use
Windows 8 ruined this laptop, I have seen earlier versions of this laptop that ran windows 7 and they were awesome, they were the reason I wanted to get this laptop, but Microsoft decided to ruin it with Windows 8 and since it is mostly an OS for tablets so many software changes had to be made that
Pros:
- This is a laptop for everyday consumers
- this is for someone who does not know much about computers
Cons:
- I got this laptop a few months ago and right out of the box I noticed how big it was, defiantly not an easy to carry laptop and it weighs a fair amount too so keep that in mind
- Also I was extremely disappointed with Windows 8, it eats up CPU and ram like crazy and all the background processes that...

No touching! We go hands-off with the HP Envy 17…
It's been less than a decade since consumers started getting used to interacting with their computers and mobile devices with touch, yet now physical contact seems so old-fashioned. Now it's all about touchless control and the ability to navigate your laptop with just your eyes or your hands.
Pros:
- Sensor fully integrated into laptop
- Can turn sensor on and off
Cons:
- Awkward placement for left-handed users
