HP Envy 17
With the 17-inch category proving to be surprisingly popular, the Envy 17 has a couple of flaws that prevent it from being one of the best. The reliance upon mechanical drives in our sample definitely slowed down system responsiveness in day-to-day use, while the budget GPU barely coped with games.
Pros:
- Solid CPU performance
- Large amount of storage
- Attractive display
Cons:
- Woeful game performance
- Huge and heavy

Nice, powerful laptop
Just bought this laptop last weekend and it is pretty good. Touch screen works great, but it takes awhile getting used to windows 8. There is a definite learning curve to it. No ssd in this computer, but boot up times still good. Excellent computer to multitask and do photoshop.

Excellent Computer
Very good for its price. I know its not really for gaming but it for sure can be. This asus 15.6 inch laptop is more expensive and is for gaming. The asus has worse specs too! This is a pretty good computer. I was interested when I heard there was beats audio.

To borrow (approximately) the words from an Amazon USA user: "HP seems to follow the industrial trend that makes benefit out of perishable items whose limited life forces you to buy a newer one in a short time".

HP Envy 17: defying the skeptics
When it comes to reviewing laptops I prefer to stay away because they're basically all the same, with a few exceptions. So when it came time to replace my ageing Acer Aspire with Core i5, I had a long hard look at the options.

Best price for the best laptop
This is probably one of the best laptops out there! In my opinion I think it is better than apple's macbook pro. I have looked at other reviews, and they all say something about how this laptop is better than any apple laptop.

HP Envy 17.3 in Laptop...Perfect
I bought this PC roughly a month ago from my local Walmart. I paid a very low price in my mind for it (under $600). I used to have a Gateway that was similar to it and the power plug blew within about 3 months. So far this laptop far surpasses my old one in quaility and worksmanship.

Overall I am happy with this product with the exception of how freaking hot and loud it is even under small to no load enough to burn your lap. It will also overheat sometimes when rendering or working in Adobe Creative Suite apps even when resting flat on a table (have to prop it up).
