HP Envy 17-3000 Review

The Envy 17-3000 is a well thought out and designed laptop and credit goes to the engineers and designers at HP.  It's a lucky thing HP didn't dump their PC business as they do a good job of being very competitive on features, design and price on the premium end.  For those that don't want the Mac
Pros:
  • Pleasing design
  • Well built with durable all metal case and chassis
  • Best audio we've ever seen from a laptop
  • Nice bright and vibrant screen
  • Excellent performance with Intel Core i7 and AMD 7690M graphics
Cons:
  • Touchpad could be improved
  • right mouse button not responsive
  • Top of the lid shows fingerprints easily
  • RAID setup not supported
  • despite dual hard drives

Pros:
  • Most everything
Cons:
  • Reheating issues

No touching! We go hands-off with the HP Envy 17…

It's been less than a decade since consumers started getting used to interacting with their computers and mobile devices with touch, yet now physical contact seems so old-fashioned. Now it's all about touchless control and the ability to navigate your laptop with just your eyes or your hands.
Pros:
  • Sensor fully integrated into laptop
  • Can turn sensor on and off
Cons:
  • Awkward placement for left-handed users
