In the land of the tablets, the one with the type cover is king. In the land of the type covers, the one most like a traditional notebook keyboard/trackpad is king … or something. You get the picture. And so has HP.

Every other week it seems there's another 2-in-1 device gunning for the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 's crown, but so far none of them have made much of a lasting impression. HP's Elite x2, however, might just be the device we've been waiting for.
I have bought this thing two weeks ago. I was looking forward to receive it. I first received the docking station (for free from HP), and then my "customized" tablet.
Perfect design; hardware options for customizable models
Battery; bloatware; awful audio; cheap audio codec
Tablet or laptop? How about both. I've avoided this class of hardware for a while, but this model has made me a believer. You can switch between laptop or tablet mode easily and pretty seamlessly. I've heard people say you cant put a tablet and laptop together because they serve different purposes.
The HP Elite X2 is a very good attempt at replacing a laptop. However, just like the Surface Pro 4, the Elite X2 isn't quite there yet. It performs well, and has a great keyboard. Plus, the fact that you can replace its internals is a big point in its favour.
Smooth and adequately fast; Top-class keyboard; Replaceable internal hardware
Poor battery life; Touchpad needs work; Dim display
HP has a new Elite tablet, and it is the most striking to date. The HP Elite x2 is a convertible system composed of a tablet with a hinged kickstand and a keyboard that attaches to the tablet using a magnetic connector.
Good machine if you like this form factor. The finger print scanner leaves a lot to be desired.
This hybrid hits the mark with business-friendly features
User-upgradeable; Fantastic keyboard; Good screen
Disappointing battery life
Hybrid laptops have risen to become a popular fixture of the PC landscape, thanks in no small part to Microsoft's excellent Surface Pro range, which proved that 2-in-1s can be both portable and powerful.
I purchased this thinking I would have a good quality item.. This thing is terrible. Takes forever to respond , the stylus only lasts about 2 days with new batteries ( which are AAAA ) and expensive, I can not get the stylus to turn off?..
