I have been using this fragrance for 35 years and it is complemented by both male and female of all ages. It never fails to please.

After about 3 months since my wife started using this product, she developed an allergic reaction to it (skin rash). It was quite surprising considering she had never developed an allergic to anything before, she also used Shalimar before, but purchased from a high street retailer.

Shalimar. Such a gorgeous scent. It's definately the best (and easiest introduction) to the House of Guerlain. From Shalimar you can start to build your perfume collection. It's such a melody of warm flowers, exotic yet familiar. It's very, very sexy, but not overpowering.

Looking for something a little heavier than a one-note floral, I found the description of a floral medley with vanilla and musk interesting. Shalimar is lovely, fine for parties and other outings--or romantic evenings, but if you're heading to the mall, PTA, or carwash, stick to something lighter.

Having always only ever purchased eau de toilette in this fragrance, was very impressed when trying the eau de parfum. I have worn this perfume on and off for many yeas and still love it, so very feminine. Boots have had it on offer that no one has been able to beat. Would thoroughly recommend.

...I just realized that Shalimar smells very similar to Guerlain's Habit Rouge Pour Homme! Similar, but Shalimar has a more prominent note of powder, whereas Habit Rouge has a prominent note of leather, although both are somewhat sweet. I love them both and wear them both! Very long-lasting also.
