Awesome game that you can play for weeks without getting bored
Grand Theft Auto V was amazing last year and it's still amazing today. Rockstar could have easily saved themselves the time, effort, and money and port the game without the new bells and whistles and the game would still be fantastic. They didn't and that speaks volumes of Rockstar's design ethos.
Grand Theft Auto V has renewed my interest in a series that I figured I'd left behind. It's also very pretty, although first person mode isn't all it's cracked up to be. I've got a long history with the Grand Theft Auto series, dating all the way back to the very first game.
The bar has been raised...Good luck reaching it, let alone clearing it.
Set in the sprawling city of Los Santos and the surrounding area, Grand Theft Auto V delivers a world of unprecedented scale and detail bursting with life, from mountaintops to the depths of the ocean.
It was only a matter of time before GTA V appeared on the newer consoles, and we still have another leap to look forward to when it hits PC in early 2015. The promising thing here is that GTA V still stands up as a hypnotising open-world adventure, with addictive characters and a broad aesthetic...
+ Los Santos is even more amazing; + First person mode makes it feel like a new game; + Best "remastered" game of 2014; + Play as a seagull
- Still can't hijack trains; - Where's the single-player DLC; dammit
With a 1080p upgrade from the last-gen 720p graphics, with greater foliage, and more realistic lighting and particle effects that make for one of the best looking next gen games yet.
1080p upgrade; lighting and particle effects; new vehicles; new weapons; new sidemissions; first person mode; solid 30fps
all cars handle the same; no heists yet
Grand Theft Auto 5 caused a stir when it was released more than a year ago, a stir that's all the more frenzied in its new-gen incarnation on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Why? Because now you can experience all the bloodshed, sleaze and profanity throughout its open-world from a first-person...
Detailed world looks better than ever; now with first-person playthrough option; great characters and missions; a wealth content
Popup not eliminated in new-gen versions; goes out of its way to be distasteful (but that might be part of the appeal
Grand Theft Auto V felt like a next-gen game even on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It was banging violently against the furthest limits of what those consoles could do in every way, and Rockstar could've very easily given the game a nice bump up to 60fps, a 1080p spitshine, and the game would've...
Back when Grand Theft Auto V was originally released, it seemed as if it was milking the very last drops of power out of the PS3 and Xbox 360. Los Santos made the dingy, depressing world of Grand Theft Auto IV feel obsolete by comparison; it was a return to the overstuffed and uninhibited game...
