Last year was an interesting year for me. It was the first year I transitioned from doing industry-specific news to doing all of the features, previews, and reviews that come with writing for USgamer.

Whilst the Chinese calendar has the year of the dragon, the videogame industry has created the year of the re-release. 2014 has seen developers thinking "how great would x look if it was released on this new shiny box or pc rather than what it came out on last year".

Whether you like it or not, 2014 has been the year of the remastered video game. Sure, we've seen a number of impressive original titles released this year, but so many of the major games have been last-generation ports with next generation visuals .

THIS GAME HAS RUINED MY LIFE! In a good way! Had it since launch and owned it on every console from PS3 to PC to Xbox and PS4, This game is A Freaking Mazing! If the characters don't pull you in, the scenery and game design will!

An incredibly ambitious upgrade that not only improves the visuals and gameplay but, through the new first person view, offers a new way to play the best GTA ever.

Amazing next gen visuals and incredible attention to detail; New first person view works very well and is fully customisable; GTA Online is available from day one and looks just as good

The story is as vague and meandering as ever, with not a single virtuous character in the whole cast; Gunplay and driving could still be better, and first person view doesn't work in every situation

Like all GTAs this is what you'd expect from the next level of it. More guns, more explosions, more everything. Great game that everyone who has a console souls have. The only reason I knock one star off is the online cash cow, everything costs the moon and you're almost forced to buy shark cards...

Gta 5 is an open world game with many awesome features including playing online with friends. With next generation consoles rockstar have enabled first person view for all players offline or online.
