Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080 GAMING OC 8G review

You know, I think the RTX 2080 card will be the hardest sell out of the 2070, 2080 and 2080 Ti range I mean, they offer heaps of performance, above a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti performance level but do miss out that little bit of extra edgy'ness compared to the founder edition card from NVIDIA.

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080 Gaming OC

It's fertile review season just after a brand-new graphics architecture launches. Nvidia's Turing GPU powers the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 cards, and it is interesting to see the green team come out swinging with big-chip designs, reversing a long-term trend of going for mainstream first.

Silent when idling; Runs cooler than FE; Quiet under load

Price; Not much faster than GTX 1080 Ti; RGB implementation is basic

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080 Gaming OC 8 GB

Gigabyte's RTX 2080 Gaming OC is a customized, overclocked variant of the RTX 2080. It runs at a boost clock of 1815 MHz, which is 15 MHz higher than the Founders Edition. Gigabyte has also released a new BIOS that increases the card's power limit. We ran all our tests with the stock and new BIOS.

Make sure you configure the fan when to spin. This gpu is too thick for my itx case which is thermal take v1, but the length is good. I had to cut off some metal parts to fit Temps is around 35c no fans, and light load like web browsing.

Excellent Cooler

After having a msi ventus rtx 2080 previously that I returned to being too noisy, this is in a different league when it comes to the cooler. Its so quiet in comparison barely gets over 65c and mine boosts to around 1960mhz automatically.

ASUS ROG Strix Geforce RTX 2080 RGB 8GB GDDR6 Gaming Graphics Card, GPU Upto 1890 MHz, 3 Fan, 2.5 Slot, 2X HDMI + 2X DP + Type C 2x 8 Pin, 300mm Length, Max 4 Display

Pumping out huge amounts of fps. Runs quite cool with good case airflow. This is a pretty huge card though so make sure smaller cases have room.

Fantastic!

Upgraded from a GTX 1050Ti and am never looking back. I built my dream mITX PC with the DAN A4-SFX case upgraded to a 4k monitor just to fully utilize this card. It's unbelievable, ray tracing is coming with most new AAA games and it's definitely worth it!

Do their job! Upgraded from a 1080 card. Is it worth the upgrade Hard to say, is probably up to each one to decide on the extra 10-20 fpsn in games, as well as RTX and DLSS technology is worth it (right now, only a handful of games are supported).

Gigabyte RTX 2080 Gaming OC 8G Review

Nvidia's new RTX 2080 cards were officially launched on the 20th September, and today our attention turns to the first aftermarket card to come into our offices – the Gigabyte RTX 2080 Gaming OC 8G.

Very quiet; Simple and stealthy design; Runs very cool under load; Barely got any louder/hotter when overclocked to 1970MHz

Couldn't match Founders Edition clock speed – either out of the box or when overclocked; £110
