Garmin Vivosmart 4 Small Medium

The Garmin Vivosmart 4 is not just smart in functionality but also smart in design, making it one of the better-looking and more versatile fitness trackers on the market.

Advanced sleep monitoring

Quality sleep is an essential part of anyone's life, especially those who require the energy to maintain a busy lifestyle. The Vivosmart 4 promises advanced monitoring of light, deep and REM sleep, as well as the amount of overnight movement. The Pulse Ox sensor also provides valuable information during your sleeping hours.

So, what is the Pulse Ox sensor?

The Pulse Ox sensor measures blood oxygen saturation levels at all times, while overnight measurements can give an indication of conditions like sleep apnoea.

Know your energy levels

Another neat feature is the Body Battery, which gives you an accurate picture of your energy reserves. With this information you can work out when to exercise, and when to take it easy.

Lead a less stressful life

The Vivosmart 4 can track the time between each heartbeat to calculate your stress level. To help you chill out, the optional “Relax Reminder” can be turned on in the Garmin Connect app; if stress levels gets elevated, a vibration alert will remind you it's time to relax.

An all-round fitness tracker

Let’s not forget the Garmin Vivosmart 4 is, first and foremost, a fitness tracker! It boasts activity timers for walking, running, strength training, swimming, yoga, and more, plus it gives you vibration alerts for notifications. The extended battery life gives you enough power to keep these features running, while you can swim and shower while wearing the device.

Garmin Vivosmart 4

For the same price, the Fitbit Alta HR has a similar look, feel, and functionality, but with more flexible fashion options thanks to its swappable bands. It also has a more responsive touch screen and a better user interface, but less detailed metrics.

Accurate; Long battery life; Automatic activity tracking; Measures blood oxygen levels, sleep, stress, and body recovery; Slim, sleek design

Touch screen could be more responsive; Uses proprietary charger

Garmin Vivosmart 4 Review: Great for Sleep, Falls Short on Fitness

Tracking sleep, stress and energy levels is endlessly interesting with the sleek, stylish Vivosmart 4, but an unresponsive display and inaccurate run tracking proved frustrating.

Slim; stylish design; Body Battery feature; Advanced health tools

Inaccurate run tracking; Small; unresponsive screen

Garmin's vivosmart 3 fitness tracker tried some interesting things, but it didn't follow through so well on all of them. This year, the company not only needed to make up for the vivosmart 3's faults, but also create something to go head to head with the upcoming Fitbit Charge 3 .

Thin; lightweight design OLED display is much better than the vivosmart 3's Accurate fitness tracker overall Advanced sleep metrics are very useful Body Battery is useful for determining how tired/energetic you are Pulse ox sensor is nice to have on a lower-end tracker 5ATM water resistance Garmin...

No phone-to-GPS tethering option Narrow display can be difficult to use Pulse ox sensor is sometimes off; doesn't take readings all night

So many features in a so small product

This new tracker has the common features (sleep stages, heart rate, stress) and the new Body battery that is very interesting and also pulse ox. I already own the Fenix 5 & Vivosport, I highly recommend it!

really accurate watch

extremely pleased with my Garmin Watch; does all I need to track both my exercise and health requirements without being too obtrusive. Fits flat onto my wrist, so very comfy to wear both in the day and at night, when it tracks my sleep patterns.

Better than expected

Coming from a Fitbit Alta HR, the Garmin vivosmart 4 feels better and lighter on my wrist. I like the Garmin Connect app better than the Fitbit app. Its not perfect but Im enjoying it more than the Fitbit. Battery life has been good.
