Garmin Vivosmart 3

If you're a data nerd or an athlete with a casual interest in stats, the Vivosmart 3 is a solid choice. For $140, you get comprehensive metrics, lots of notification options, and good battery life. The downsides are a cloudy display, a lack of interchangeable bands, and a clunky interface.

Comprehensive fitness tracking, including heart rate; Good battery life; Safe for swimming; Comfortable

Cloudy screen; Hard to read in direct sunlight; Finicky interface; No GPS; No interchangeable bands

Garmin Vivosmart 3

Although it's not so intuitive to navigate, the slim and comfortable Vivosmart 3 is a very good activity tracker that's waterproof and feature-packed.

The Garmin Vivosmart 3 is slim, very comfortable to wear, has a built-in heart-rate monitor and is fully waterproof; It's loaded with extra features, including stress-level measurements, VO2 Max readings, and a rep counter; It shows notifications from your phone

Some of the features are a little difficult to access on the watch; the display isn't as sharp as some competing models' displays

Garmin Vivosmart 3

The thinner-and-lighter trend isn't just dominating smartphones and laptops-fitness tech companies are constantly trying to make "the next big thing" as thin and light as they possibly can.

Easy-to-wear design; Good new rep-counting feature; Auto-recording feature and on-device activity menu; New estimated VO2 max and fitness age scores

Cannot change out bands; Heart rate monitor is inconsistent at high BPMs; Sleep tracking isn't as comprehensive as that of the Alta HR; Limited on-band music controls; Garmin Connect badly needs an overhaul

Garmin vivosmart 3 Review – Fitness Tracker For Strength Tr...

The Garmin vivosmart 3 is essentially a sleeker vivosmart HR with support for strength training. Unfortunately, this new strength training feature mostly disappoints us. In theory, the VS3 is supposed to quantify your reps, sets, and rest times as well as automatically recognize exercises.

Comfortable and water resistant; Thin; sleek design; Built-in wrist heart rate monitor; Smartphone notifications + control for music and VIRB action camera; Moderate price point

Strength training feature is disappointing; Does not connect with external HRM; Display is average at best

Money well spent

Bought this for my teen daughter. She absolutely loves it! The fact that it's waterproof was why we got this one. I love it because it helps her stay active.

I've had this for about 2 weeks. At first the battery life was fine, not anywhere near the advertised 5 days but it was ok. I went into the settings and shut everything that drains the battery off, dimmed the screen, shut off phone notifications, shut off auto track feature and heart rate monitor.

Garmin Vivosmart 3 Review

Garmin's latest iteration of the Vivosmart can largely be thought of as a rival to the . It sports a similar design and feature set to the Charge 2, making it a good all-round fitness tracker for those not wanting the added expense of GPS.

Discreet and comfortable design; Good battery life; Touch interface is easy to use; Water-resistant

Garmin Connect app is still messy; Can't respond to notifications; Rep counting feels tacked on

Garmin Vivosmart 3 review

Garmin is pushing its activity tracking to a new level with the Vivosmart 3. This wrist-placed wearable is Garmin's third generation of the Vivosmart, after skipping the number 2 in favor of the Vivosmart HR+ .

Rep counting; Auto activity tracking; Smart notifications

No GPS; Hit and miss wake movement sensing; Plain design

Brilliant buy

I bought this watch a week ago as part of my get fit initiative and it's great. It has some really good features like sleep analysis, stress management as well as step counter and heart rate measurement. The fact it's waterproof is also a real bonus as means I can wear it in the pool.
