Garmin Instinct

The Garmin Instinct is one of the more rugged and reliable outdoor GPS watches on the market. It's built for thermal, shock and water resistance to 100 metres, with plenty of features packed into it as well.

Extreme strength, smart design

The case is made from fibre-reinforced polymer, and the display is scratch-resistant. Fully vented silicone bands include two independent, removable keeper loops which give you a secure fit and prevent you from getting caught on things.

Stay on track

Relying on GPS alone to track in normal conditions is OK, but when things become challenging you need more. Garmin Instinct gives you more including built-in 3-axis compass and barometric altimeter plus multiple global navigation satellite systems such as GPS, GLONASS and Galileo. Meanwhile, the Tracback feature lets you navigate back to the beginning of your track.

An active Instinct

The Instinct offers accurate monitoring of things like heart rate and stress, and you can base your training on a host of preloaded activity profiles including biking, running and swimming.

Time to explore

The Garmin Instinct gives you access to the brilliant Garmin Explore website and app, which helps you plan trips in advance. You can create waypoints and routes on the map, sync trip data into a live map so your friends and family can watch your trip in progress, set up contacts, review stats from past trips and more.

Battery life you can rely on

If you're in the great outdoors, running a marathon, or somewhere off the beaten track, you need long battery life. That's a given with Garmin Instinct. Expect up to 14 days in smartwatch mode, up to 16 hours in GPS mode, and up to 40 hours in UltraTrac battery saver mode.

I liked the feel, size, and appearance of this watch. I also do a small amount of hiking which is why I purchased. However, I am an avid runner and have had multiple garmin running devices and the distance and pace accuracy of this model is not up to par compared to previous Garmin watches.

As you know, Garmin's range of rugged smartwatches was limited to flagship models Fenix and Tactix. The manufacturer decided to release new outdoor smartwatch. Garmin Instinct is one of the most durable Garmin watches made to the military standard.

Garmin Instinct

I had previously had nothing but fit it's prior to this. Went through three in two years decided it was time to get something tougher. So far love this watch, reminds me of my G-shocks from my Army days.

Garmin Instinct Rugged GPS Smartwatch

I bought this as a birthday gift for my significant other. He loves it! I felt that one of those Apple watches wouldn't have worked with the way he swings his arms. He's showered with it and has even bumped it into things but it's still good as new.

So far so good.

It's only been a few days and it has taken a while to work out even just some basic features but it seems a pretty awesome watch. Very comfortable (hardly feel it on my wrist) and even though my wrist is small there are plenty more loops for even smaller wrists.
