Garmin Edge 130 review

Sometimes less is more. Sometimes we don't need to have a smartphone attached to our bars telling us when to ride hard or when we need to fuel. There are critical pieces of information that are nice to know though like heart rate, speed, power, and maybe Strava segment time.

Crystal clear display; Lightweight; Long battery life; Ride description functionality; Live Strava segments

Lacking in power features; GPS in monochrome can be hard to follow; Expensive

Great product

Only used this a few times so far due to weather and injury but it is amazing, very easy to set up, connected to my HR monitor instantly. The Strava live segments are really good plus no touch screen. The Garmin connect app is excellent and automatically updates Strava.

I so, so wanted to love this little thing. I had a Garmin 500 for years and years. It worked rain, shine, cold, wet, hot. It would last 15 hours no problem. I loved that device so much and when it finally died I quickly went back to Garmin to get a replacement. What a mistake.

Inexpensive Basic + Lot's More

I don't need all the frills, like color display, maps, etc. The displays are very customizable - you'd be surprised how hard it is to find a device that shows HR, speed and distance on one display.

Worth every penny

The Garmin Edge is compact but the display is clearly visible in shade and sunlight. The unit is intuitive to program, a good thing as the user manual is insufficient. The speed sensor, cadence monitor, and a Garmin HRM all paired quickly, although the the first two sensors required rotating the...

I know Garmin gets a lot of stick, but this is probably their best unit for the price. I've used it on multiple rides and have had no problems thus far. Garmin claims a battery life of up to 15 hours and that seems about ride (depending on what features you are using).

Garmin Edge 130 review: A bargain cycle computer

The Garmin Edge 130 breaks new ground by offering features such Strava Live Segments and Bluetooth and ANT+ sensor compatibility in a small, lightweight package that costs only £150.

Good value; Excellent screen; Compatible with ANT+ and Bluetooth sensors

Buttons can be fiddly; Basic navigation tools

Garmin Edge 130 In-Depth Review

In a lot of ways, I think the Edge 130 is the bike unit that consumers have probably been asking for, for quite some time. They might just not have known it. By going back to something the size of a cheap $20 Cateye unit found at a bike shop, it removes the intimidation factor for some people of a...
