Garmin Approach G6 review

If you're an amateur golfer, then it's inevitable that at some point during your round, you are going to misjudge the distance of a shot and ruin the chance of posting a good score on that hole - a particularly annoying mistake if your ball ends up in OB because of it.

Does pretty much what I expected

I have to say that I do like this GPS system. It has good battery life, I have yet to find a course that I play that it doesn't know about. It seems to be accurate and easy to read in bright sunlight. My only real complaint is that I like to keep it in my pocket rather than clipped to my belt.
Pros:
  • It's accurate and easy to use
Cons:
  • Locking screen isn't convenient

This is the one to buy!

Just go buy it, you will not be disappointed! Take it to your local golf course, go to the first tee, switch it on and by the time you've teed off it's ready to use. It just "walks" you around the course.

  • Very easy to follow instructions
  • More functions than i would use on a regular basis but they can prove to be extremely useful.

Garmin G6, if you haven't tried it, I recommend you should

I found the Garmin G6 Gps Receiver easy to use, pretty much dead on with the distance. With that said, which was wrong the GPS or the markers on the courses I play. But for the most part the Garmin was within a yd. I like the fact there isn't a fee to use it every year.

Well worth the price

Just used my G6 for the first time and I absolutely loved it. So many features other than just distances. Scoring, shot tracking, putts, GIR. The scoring feature includes course handicapping and even match play scoring, taking into account players handicaps.
