Japanese technology all through

This is a very good lens, made all glass with EBC technology, that means it will correct chromatic aberrations as good as fluorite glass lenses. It has "all metal" construction, and analog controls. It will work with all the X line of semi pro cameras with interchangeable lenses.

Fujifilm Fujinon XF 35mm f/1.4 R Lens Review

Handling and Features Performance Verdict Specification XF 35mm f/1.4 R This standard lens for the Fujifilm X-Pro1 interchangeable lens camera provides a field of view equivalent to a 51mm lens on a 35mm camera, sports a bright f/1.4 maximum aperture and costs around £550.

Extremely sharp in the centre when stopped down; Very good sharpness towards the edges when stopped down; Very Lightweight; Traditional design; Excellent build

Auto focus is a little on the slow side; Can be tricky to get accurate focus at wide apertures

I bought this lens and couldn't be happier. I have to have a specific shot in ...

While I've always had a nifty fifty on my full frame kit, I didn't use it much. When I went to a smaller kit, it was one of my most used lenses. Sure enough, when I picked up Fuji, I bought this lens and couldn't be happier.

Excellent

Great lens - excellent optical and build quality. Super sharp at all apertures. A must have for owners of a Fuji X camera.

The keeper

50mm is a weird focal length, either you love it or you hate it. I was raised with slr cameras all equipped with 50mm lenses and that's how I learnt to shoot, so I love this too narrow yet not long enough, never right perspective because you have to work at it.

Must buy first lens for your Fuji System

This was my first purchase after getting my X-E2 camera. The reviews on it are amazing and comparable lenses from other manufacturers are upwards of...

Fantastic IQ; metal build; small size; comes with a hood; very sharp at 1.4

the Autofocus is a tad noisier than other Fuji lenses

Fuji XF 35mm 1.4 Lens

This lens equates to a 50mm for full frame images. Lens is wildly sharp and has a very beautiful bouquet for out of focus background. Super nice hood and cap and great controls. So user friendly and the image results jump off the screen.

Sharp images; beautiful bouquet; fast focus; great controls; solidly made; hood and cap are a beautiful finishing touch

None ....

If I were in the market for a 35mm lens now I'd be tempted by Fuji's new f2 model.

Small; Neat; Very accurate autofocus; Light for a such a fast lens; Half decent lenshood; Image quality hard to fault, but if it sounds as though I am damning it with faint praise, I suppose I am: the lens is workman-like, reliable and very good but not great

This is now a fairly old lens; Autofocus is still good, but while more than fast enough for most things it is not super-fast and nor is it quiet; Performance optically is somewhere between very good and excellent, but I suspect the new f2 may have the edge based on the charts displayed here.
