A camera that gets you back to photography
I read about the X-Pro1 late 2011 after lusting over the X100. The X100 had everything going for it except a "fixed" (non-zoom) lens. Enter the X-Pro1. In the past, Fuji took Nikon bodys and created their own quasi dslr.
Pros:
- Amazing detail and low light capabilities
- Lots of control
Cons:
- Battery Cover obstructed if using tripod mount
- No lighting fast auto-focus

Camera Test: FujiFilm X-Pro1
The Fujifilm X-Pro1 will appeal chiefly to enthusiastic (and affluent) amateurs, as well as to pros seeking an alternative shooting experience-people for whom pride of ownership is a factor.

Fuji's pro digital camera looks retro, but is far from it
It's been a long time since Fujifilm had anything to do with the professional or enthusiast-level digital camera market. The S5 Pro from 2006 was based on Nikon's semi-professional D200 DX-crop camera, but added Fuji's signature excellent colour performance, tweaking aspects of the camera to suit...
Pros:
- Excellent image quality
- Impressive design and build quality
- High quality lens line-up
Cons:
- Imperfect hybrid viewfinder setup
- Slow autofocus
- mediocre manual focus performance

The ultimate device for old-school hobbyists who crave the style and mechanical control of classic cams.
It's no longer true to call the X-Pro1's retro inspiration "groundbreaking." After all, Fuji has already found success with its X100 and X10 cameras, not to mention similar efforts by the Olympus PEN series and the OM-D E-M5 .

Performance niggles aside, the X-Pro1 is still a great camera, and you can't knock it in terms of styling, build and image quality. And if it follows suit from the X100, we can hope to see its price drop in coming months, making it a classy and far more affordable option for CSC users.

Fujifilm X-Pro1 review
The Fujifilm X-Pro1 does almost everything right: it's a beautiful (if enormous) camera, it takes great pictures and video, and once you take the time to learn its controls and systems it's as capable a shooter as I've tested.
Pros:
- Gorgeous design
- Takes excellent photos and videos
- Efficient control system
Cons:
- Expensive
- Lens ecosystem is new and very small
- Relatively slow autofocus

This is an amazing camera. Perfect in almost every way. It has an Achilles heel and that is the focus. If you need a camera that focuses quickly, this is not the camera for you. All else is far superior. This camera has IQ that is every bit as good as a full-frame shooter.
Pros:
- Wonderful look and feel
- controls/interface absolutely genius
- pictures out of this world clarity
- sharpness
- white balance amazing
Cons:
- focus
