I wanted to move from dSLR to something smaller, but wasn't ready to sacrifice the functionality and image quality.I'm so impressed with dynamic range, sharpness and image quality... I can't get the smile off of my face, for weeks :) This is one beautiful and joyful camera.

A Decent Slr
I bought this camera for WildLife photography as I love to trek. This camera is very portable and also takes great photos. The lens kit provided helps me take night photos easily which was an expected feature.

Fujifilm X-E1 review
Currently, the X-E1 costs £450 less than the street price of the X-Pro1, and is available with the superb 18-55mm lens (priced separately at £600) for the same price as the body-only X-Pro1. Considering the similarities between the two, the X-E1 is a good-value option.

Great camera. Images are razor sharp and nicely saturated. Pretty much every feature you need from a camera like this.

great addt add on, but a bit pricey!
Adds necessary grip to the smallish Fuji. All metal construction and of course fits perfectly. Only bad design is lack of access to battery and sd card. And about $20 too high in my opinion.

Just what I was looking for
I bought this camera looking for a lighter alternative to my Canon DSLR for hiking, backpacking and general travel photography. We did a week+ trip to the Rocky Mountains, and I put it through all the paces camping and backpacking. I've also used it for some portraiture work and flower photography.
Pros:
- Fast Shutter Speed
- Good Battery Life
- Good Firmware Upgrades
- Great Lenses From Fuji
- Great Resolution
- Large Clear LCD
- Small / Compact
Cons:
- Focusing Can Be Slow

is pretty close to what until now
Read Chris R. Field. He's 100% right. If you're coming from (say) any Panasonic or Sony advanced compact camera and expect you're just upgrading... Forget it! Fuji cameras are an other world.

On first glance, the Fujifilm X-E1 looks right out of the eighties when cameras were compact affairs with faux leather bodies and grips, and dozens of dials and buttons that one could fiddle around with to ensure that one got the perfect shot and did not waste the valuable film.
