Fujifilm X-E1 review
The Fujifilm X-E1 is a modern-day classic, but not in the mainstream sense. It's like a cult movie - it will perfectly fit the niche for some, why others will think it's mad.
Pros:
- Image quality is excellent
- build quality is superb
- retro style works a treat
- high resolution electronic viewfinder
- 18-55mm lens has bright aperture range and is well built
Cons:
- Autofocus not as swift as competition
- close focus limitations
- exposure comp dial can be knocked easily
- 18-55mm lens positions rotational rings close together
- small LCD screen
- so-so battery life

Fujifilm X-E1
Having provided a detailed 'First Look' at Fujifilm's X-E1 interchangeable-lens camera in September, rather than re-hash the information supplied there, we'll concentrate on aspects of the camera we were unable to assess in our initial overview: handling and performance.
Pros:
- You're looking lighter and cheaper
- retro-styled camera with manual shooting modes and raw file capture plus Full HD video recording with stereo soundtracks
- You want above-average performance in low-light conditions at up to ISO 6400
- You'd like manually-adjustable aperture and zoom rings.
Cons:
- You require an optical viewfinder, You want a wider range of lenses than Fujifilm currently offers
- Don't buy this camera if, You require an optical viewfinder, You want a wider range of lenses than Fujifilm currently offers

Fujifilm X-E1 Review
was launched earlier this year. The X-E1 is a more compact model, with an electronic viewfinder instead of the optical/electronic hybrid in the X-Pro1, and sees the introduction of a new 18-55mm lens with optical image stabilisation.
Pros:
- Brighter than normal kit lens (f2.8 - f/4
- Impressive noise performance up to ISO6400
- Impressive colour reproduction
- Great build quality and handling
- Film simulation modes
- High resolution EVF
- Good panoramics
Cons:
- Indoor white balance could be better
- Expensive lenses / price of kit
- Kit lens could be wider
- Exposure compensation dial easy to knock

Fuji X-E1 Review: Wonderful For Stills, But It's No Jack Of All Trades
The Fuji X-Pro1 was a hit. But at $1700 for the body alone, it was (and still is) bonkers expensive. The new X-E1 is Fuji's reaction to that. With a pared down body and new kit lens, Fuji could maintain its enthusiast appeal - and attract a broader market.

As an avid traveller and amateur portraitist, I wanted a small camera with an APSC sensor and outstanding image quality. This new Fuji delivers in spades. STRENGTHS : 1) resolution equal to full frame DSLR.

Fujifilm's X-E1 delivers great photos for manual-focused photographers
It's not a general-purpose recommendable camera thanks to subpar video and slightly sluggish performance, but for photo-quality-first photographers who want the analog-ish shooting experience, the Fujifilm X-E1 rules in its price range.
Pros:
- The Fujifilm X-E1 delivers excellent photo quality in an attractively designed body with a streamlined shooting layout
Cons:
- While not bad
- performance lags in its class
- and the video quality disappoints

Insanely amazing
I was lucky enough to get this the first week it was shipped to B&H without being on a waiting list. There's no camera that's in this price with kit lens can match its photo quality. If you want video get a gh3. Auto mode is decent but this camera screams to be in full manual.

Fujifilm FinePix X-E1 Review
When Fujifilm released the X-E1 it's clear that the company has one thing in mind, and that is to polish some of the rough edges that critics pointed out on the X-Pro1. Well, they didn't have to do much as the X-Pro1 is already regarded by many as one of the sleekest MILC in the market.

X-E1
IT IS no secret that I'm in love with the Fuji X-Pro1 - in spite of its retro looks, it packs in a lot of advanced technology into its Leica-like body, not least of which is a class-leading 16-megapixel X-Trans CMOS sensor.
Pros:
- Excellent image quality
- built-in pop-up flash
- easy-to-use controls
- Autofocus speed could still see some improvement
Cons:
- Autofocus speed could still see some improvement
