Fujifilm X20 review - Retro-style camera with solid build
X-ceptional: re-vamped version of the X10 keeps the same gorgeous outer shell but adds under-the bonnet performance tweaks The Fujifilm X20 premium compact with a ‘classic' design updates the previous X10 model and in doing so clashes with the likes of the Samsung EX2F, Olympus XZ-2, Pentax MX-1,
Pros:
- X20 feels great in the hand thanks to solid mainly metal build
- clever function implementation includes optical viewfinder with digital overlay
- the fact the camera can be activated or deactivated via a twist of its lens adds a further point of difference
Cons:
- Certain rivals have both a larger sensor and higher resolution for this price
- maximum aperture not quite as bright as some competitors' f/1.4 or f/1.8 optics
- smaller LCD screen than many

Fuji's FinePix X10 really impressed when we tested it, so naturally we are pleased to learn that the Fuji FinePix X20 that replaces it is fundamentally the same, but with a sensor based on the one in the superb Fuji X-Pro1.

This what the X10 should have been
My experience with the X10 was disappointing to say the least but the X20 makes good all those deficiencies. Having shooting and focus information in the viewfinder makes SUCH a difference.Living in France, I always carry a man-bag so the fact that this doesn't fit into my jeans or shirt-pocket is...
Pros:
- Durable
- Great Features
- Great Picture Quality
Cons:
- No Neutral Density Filter

X20
As the smaller brother of the X100S, the X20 has a lot to live up to - the X100S is already a Âmodern classic with its retro design and funky Âfeatures. Of course, the X20 is hardly in the same league since it has a smaller sensor, but as a premium compact camera it holds up very well against...

- Good image quality even at high ISO settings
- well-designed and placed controls
- information overlay in optical rangefinder
Cons:
- Lens cap is easily lost
- optical viewfinder is very small

Fujifilm X20 review
The gorgeously classic 12 megapixel Fujifilm X20 - like the rest of the premium X series - is a camera that has personality. It's not purely functional - indeed it's downright quirky in places - but the X20 is a camera that stands out in a sea of grey clones and we love it for that.
Pros:
- Gorgeous design
- Activated by twisting lens
- Optical viewfinder
Cons:
- Small sensor
- Low resolution
- Pricey

Awesome camera and is my perfect companion for street photography. In spite of some some reviewers complaining about the Fujifilm X20's quirks like noise above 1600 ISO and 'water colour effect' of jpeg images straight out of the camera, I think this is an absolute value for money camera.
