Hands-on Report: The Fujifilm X100 Camera Review
First announced at Photokina in 2010, but formally introduced on February 8, 2011, Fujifilm has made big waves with their first premier enthusiast compact, the X100. Featuring a 12.3MP APS-C CMOS sensor, a ground-breaking hybrid viewfinder, fast F2 23mm lens, and handsome throwback styling, the X100...

In the decade or so that digital cameras have been widely available, manufacturers have always looked to the design of classic cameras for inspiration. Olympus's recent PEN series harks back to the film models of the same name, while Leica's M range continues with a design long established in the...

Fujifilm announces X100, APS-C Sensor Compact
FROM OUR EDITORS AT PHOTOKINA: Fujifilm entered the all but non-existent large sensor compact camera category this morning, with the launch of the Finepix X100-a 12.3MP APS-C sensor camera with a 35mm equivalent f/2 lens, a newly developed EXR processor and a 1970's feel.

Fujifilm X100 Digital Camera Review
The X100 is a truly pioneering camera that has brought retro styling back to market in a big way. Though retro styling aside the real beauty of the X100 is that it offers the market a relatively inexpensive rangefinder camera that delivers incredible image quality from a large APS CMOS sensor.

Great everywhere camera
Unlike the bulky DSLR, I can take Fuji X100 with me anywhere I go. The sensor-lens combo produces excellent image quality, better than most DSLR I used. Handling takes time to get used to. Prime lens is wonderful. I don't find myself missing the wide-angle, since there is panorama mode.

Overall the camera takes decent pictures, when it's working. The 35mm equivalent lens is makes it good for taking daily pictures. But it also mean that this is not the lens for taking super wide landscape or indoor architecture photos.

Professional!
This camera gives a very very professional feel when I hold it in my hand. It appears like those old cameras, with the conventional looks. But on the inside it is loaded with features. The whole layout of the controls is very very proffesional. The zooming capabilities are just awesome.

"State Of The Art, Hidden In A Retro Design"
Despite taking it up as a "option" (now there is an old term for you) when I was at school, to be honest photography has always alluded me. I'm very much a point and click kind of guy, I like a camera to focus for me, and essentially be a perfect shot.
Pros:
- As advanced or as simplistic as you want it to be
Cons:
- Almost impossible to understand manual

Fujifilm Finepix X100 Camera – Review
Retro may be in right now but there's something distinctly ironic about Fujifilm's X100, which combines state of the art technology with a classic rangefinder-style body echoing the looks of units from four decades back.
Pros:
- Stunning retro looks
- That amazing viewfinder
- Good control layout and handling
- Top notch image quality
- State of the art noise control
Cons:
- Slow and awkward image processor
- Not cheap
