Fujifilm FinePix HS10 review
Larger and weightier than most entry-level DSLRs, the Fujifilm FinePix HS10 is a solid-feeling camera that's powered by four AA batteries. It also holds the distinction of being the first new digital SLR model Fuji has launched in years.

Fujifilm Finepix HS10: Fuji HS10 - the poor mans mid-range dSLR
My old Olympus CZ4000 was on it's last legs - so it was time to search for another reliable, great value camera. Whilst I have always wanted a Digital SLR, the prices were a little too heavy for my budget - considering the additional cost of extra lenses if you want a reasonable range of focus.

"Fujifilm FinePix HS10 - Overall great camera"
The camera is great: I like the zoom, however, others may prefer to change the zooms though. The camera is great value for money. It has a 30x zoom, going from 24mm to 720mm. If you want a good camera with a great zoom for a good price, this is the camera, a lot cheaper than the DSLR equivalent.
Pros:
- Amazing zoom
- Only one lense
- Full HD
- Panoramic photos
Cons:
- Uses AA batteries - don't last as long
- pressing record button slow to respond

Remember the price tag
Overall, refer to the review's title! I can find lots of things on this camera which I'd like it to improve on, but at the price I paid (£220) I don't think I can realistically complain too much. If you can afford a DSLR with a couple of good zooms, go for that. If you point & shoot, get a compact.
Pros:
- Huge focal range
- HD quality video
- relatively lightweight
- uses standard size batteries
- decent-sized fold-out viewing screen & reasonably solid build
- good value for money
- better than a compact & smaller than a DSLR
Cons:
- Panoramic function & manual focus both frustratingly bad, slow image transfer, placement of buttons, no remote release function or 'bulb' setting, poor EVF
- Not as good as a DSLR & bigger than a compact
- Battery life isn't brilliant.

Fujifilm FinePix HS10
The HS10 is a feature-packed camera that will satisfy enthusiasts who want a camera that operates like a dSLR. It's a pity the picture quality isn't fantastic, but photographers who like to take videos can look to this FinePix.
Pros:
- Plenty of shooting functions for enthusiasts
- Handy 30x optical zoom
- Useful tilting LCD
- 7fps burst mode at full resolution
- Good quality full-HD video capture
Cons:
- As big and heavy as a dSLR
- Picture quality can be better
- Performance sluggish in certain modes

Fujifilm FinePix HS10
The Fujifilm FinePix HS10 looks like the ultimate bridge camera, given its wide-angle lens with a manual 30x zoom; large tilting LCD and an electronic viewfinder; direct controls for all major settings; and shooting modes that take you from fully automatic to fully manual.
Pros:
- Great feature set
- excellent dSLR-like controls
Cons:
- Poor photo quality above ISO 400
- mixed shooting performance

Fujifilm FinePix HS10 Review
Up to the point where FedEx delivered the HS10, the Canon SX10 IS was my favorite long zoom digicam. Having now spent some quality time with Fuji ‘s newest ultrazoom, that's no longer the case.
Pros:
- Versatile
- 30x zoom
- Good feature set
Cons:
- Low resolution LCD
- Expensive
- Softer images
