Fujifilm FinePix F770 EXR

Fujifilm's FinePix F770 EXR is the second 'travellers' zoom' camera to be released, following hot on the heels of the FinePix F550 EXR. Aside from some minor adjustments to the body design, the only significant change in the new model is the increase of the zoom range from 15x to 20x, mainly at the...

Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR review

Fujifilm's FinePix F770EXR is a versatile little camera with a nice design and an ability to capture wonderfully-detailed and richly-coloured images. Its 25-500mm zoom lens, along with a small body size, make it a suitable camera to carry at all times.

Fujifilm FinePix F770 EXR Digital Camera Review

Without doubt the F770 EXR from Fujifilm quickly proves to be as functional as it is attractive and for all that it offers bundled so beautifully into a compact but punchy little package, it's safe to say the price tag is absolutely appropriate as well.

The Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR is a compact camera with lots of power in the engine room, so to speak, and it's also a model that has been blessed with good looks. Lots of curves, attention to detail, as well as a firm build quality, make it a desirable little unit and one that also feels very...

  • Great colours and contrast
  • Nice design
  • Versatile lens
Cons:
  • Menu system could be a little better

The Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR ($379.95 direct) is a 16-megapixel point-and-shoot camera with a long 20x zoom range. Despite packing such an ambitious lens, it's small enough to slide into your pocket, and manages to squeeze in quite a few physical controls.

  • Compact body
  • Good control layout
  • GPS
  • Raw shooting support
Cons:
  • Noisy photos at high ISOs

Fujifilm FinePix F770 EXR

While it doesn't perform as well as some of the other travel cameras in its class, the F770 EXR is great for macro shooters who want a long optical zoom and a GPS module. Unfortunately, if you shoot in JPEG exclusively, you just won't get the best out of this camera, and there's some pronounced...
Pros:
  • Plenty of photo modes and options
  • RAW image capture
  • Good macro performance
Cons:
  • Images suffer from over-processing
  • Image stabilisation in video mode is not particularly effective

Fujifilm FinePix F770 EXR

The F770 is a rather svelte camera, despite the overarching reach of the 20x optical zoom packed inside. There's a small bump over the lens element, and the front of the optic protrudes slightly from the camera body, but it's still small enough overall to slip into a pocket or small bag for...
Pros:
  • Plenty of photo modes and options
  • RAW image capture
  • Good macro performance
Cons:
  • Images suffer from over-processing
  • Image stabilisation in video mode is not particularly effective
