Fractal Design CORE 1000

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: The CORE 1000 is the most affordable entry into the Micro ATX case market from Fractal Design. It is aimed to take on the Cooler Master Elite and the Xigmatek Asgard by offering as many features at an affordable price point. Will it prevail?
  • Great price
  • All black interior
  • White Fractal Design accents still there
  • Plenty of space for large PSUs
  • Possibility to install long graphics cards as long as the power connector leads out back
  • 5.25 inch to 3.5 inch adapter included
  • 3.5 inch hard drive rubber mounted
  • Thumb screws for external...
  • Only two external drive bays
  • Only two or three internal drive bays
  • Limited CPU cooler clearance
  • Side mounted I/O
  • No hole under the mainboard tray
  • Most long graphics cards have side mounted power connectors - hard drives will get in the way
  • No real cable management possibilities

Fractal Design Core 1000: How Little is Too Little

Verdict: Introducing the Fractal Design Core 1000 Extreme budget enclosures are interesting creatures. While the best balancing acts usually show up around the $100 price point, and going north of $150 will generally get you the best of everything, hanging out at $60 or lower means having to make a lot of...

Great Case with Minor Issues

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: Slapped a mini-ITX board in this case with an i3 - 4370. Sadly had to use the stock cooler because I didn't' have time to order a different one. Other than that, building in this case was an easy experience.
  • Very nice case and great quality for a sub $40 case
  • The layout is perfect and the chassis really light
  • All black paint inside and out looks super nice once the build is complete
  • Awesome air-flow..
  • Some issues: 1
  • Piece of paper stuck where the motherboard mounts that got painted over at the factory
  • However, the motherboard covers this
  • 2
  • Not wide enough for the ever popular Cooler Master Hyper 212
  • Only 3mm more width would just fit this amazing and favorite CPU cooler

( happy about that ) packaging was great

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: Arrived way early, ( happy about that ) packaging was great, Overall i think the case is a little "thin" but for the price you can't go wrong honestly.. It has all custom screws for all the screw fittings. it has good spacing between everything to fit everything tightly.

brilliant quality case for this proce range

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: If you're looking for a budget build and are going to use a matx motherboard, this is the case you want! It is very very cheap, yet still has nice features like folded metal edges so you cant cut yourself, removable pci covers, not temporary ones that snap out like other cases in this range, enough...

High quality, low cost.

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: I have done a few builds with this case and for the price you won't find a better quality case. For a basic build it is fantastic.
  • Sturdy, well designed, attractive
  • The design is slightly unusual but functional

Sharp Looking but Mechanically Poor

★★★★ 1.0
Verdict: We purchased two of these mechanical pencils for the office. When using them, they feel great: grip well, light weight, moulded to your fingers. Unfortunately, shortly after purchasing them, in both cases, the tiny metal piece supporting the lead fell out so the lead keeps breaking off and you can't...
