Flip Video Mino

Flip Video MinoHD review Review

The MinoHD isn't without its drawbacks, most notably a high price tag and its lack of a memory-expansion slot, but it's a great mini-camcorder nonetheless. Considering its size, this ultra-simple device shoots solid 720p video, and uploading your recordings to the Internet couldn't be much easier

Shoots solid 720p high-definition video; Ultra-slim yet functional design; Easy to use; One-touch video uploading to YouTube and MySpace; Integrated rechargeable lithium-ion battery; FlipShare software is compatible with both Macs and Windows PCs

Pricey; No SD/MMC expansion slot; Rechargeable battery isn't removable or replaceable; Can't output HD to HDTVs

Flip MinoHD

Although ultimate image quality and features are sacrificed on the altar of price and pocketability, the MinoHD should be on casual videographers shortlists.

Price; Pocketability; Easy-to-use FlipShare software; Decent video quality for the price

Capacitive buttons; Low quality screen; No memory expansion; Requires a steady; steady hand

and the first 5 minutes or so looked very good, then in the remaining 45 minutes

I just used the camera which looked and appeared to be just as represented. I videotaped a person to use in a professional presentation, and the first 5 minutes or so looked very good, then in the remaining 45 minutes, the speaker was a distracting array of different fluorescent colors.

Flip Video Mino review

Technically, you can call the Flip Video Mino a camcorder. But its no-frills feature set and 640x480 resolution casts it as more of a 'dumbcorder'. Imagine the power of a VGA webcam sellotaped to a 2GB memory card, all stuffed into the hollowed out shell of a Nokia N95.

Idiot-proof but effective; Good connectivity; Video sharing wizard

Tiny screen; Only 2GB of memory

Flip MinoHD

We're big fans of Flip Video's incredibly easy-to-use pocket-size video cameras, but it's been difficult to wholeheartedly recommend them given the superior video capabilities of today's point-and-shoot digicams. Flip's new MinoHD changes that.

Super portable and spontaneous HD video in your pocket

Needs stabilization and HDMI port

After updating the Flip Ultra pocket camcorder to shoot in 720p high-definition (HD) video, Cisco turned its sights on the Flip MinoHD.

Flip Video Mino Camcorder

I didn't think I would ever have use for a camcorder , because I don't ever use the video option on my phone, and because I am an avid photographer, I didn't think I would have use for or have time to videotape my travels and adventures.
