I didn't think I would ever have use for a camcorder , because I don't ever use the video option on my phone, and because I am an avid photographer, I didn't think I would have use for or have time to videotape my travels and adventures.
The MinoHD isn't without its drawbacks, most notably a high price tag and its lack of a memory-expansion slot, but it's a great mini-camcorder nonetheless. Considering its size, this ultra-simple device shoots solid 720p video, and uploading your recordings to the Internet couldn't be much easier
Shoots solid 720p high-definition video; Ultra-slim yet functional design; Easy to use; One-touch video uploading to YouTube and MySpace; Integrated rechargeable lithium-ion battery; FlipShare software is compatible with both Macs and Windows PCs
Pricey; No SD/MMC expansion slot; Rechargeable battery isn't removable or replaceable; Can't output HD to HDTVs
Although ultimate image quality and features are sacrificed on the altar of price and pocketability, the MinoHD should be on casual videographers shortlists.
Price; Pocketability; Easy-to-use FlipShare software; Decent video quality for the price
Capacitive buttons; Low quality screen; No memory expansion; Requires a steady; steady hand
I just used the camera which looked and appeared to be just as represented. I videotaped a person to use in a professional presentation, and the first 5 minutes or so looked very good, then in the remaining 45 minutes, the speaker was a distracting array of different fluorescent colors.
Technically, you can call the Flip Video Mino a camcorder. But its no-frills feature set and 640x480 resolution casts it as more of a 'dumbcorder'. Imagine the power of a VGA webcam sellotaped to a 2GB memory card, all stuffed into the hollowed out shell of a Nokia N95.
Idiot-proof but effective; Good connectivity; Video sharing wizard
Tiny screen; Only 2GB of memory
The Flip Video Mino is the fourth generation of Pure Digital's popular straight-to-Web mini camcorder, designed to make shooting and sharing low-resolution videos very easy. Thinner, smaller, and lighter than its older and less expensive sibling, the Flip Video Ultra , the Mino crams similar...
Ultraslim yet functional design; easy to use; relatively high-quality sound and video for its class; one-touch video uploading to YouTube and AOL
A bit expensive; no SD/MMC card expansion slot; rechargeable battery isn't removable or replaceable
The quality of this little cam may take you off guard, but so will the price. The company that pioneered the pocket-sized flash video camera has taken it a step further with the MinoHD, a pint-sized camcorder that shoots 720p high-def video, in a case that's no bigger than the original, super-slim...
Lightweight; ultra-slim and pocketable; excellent detail in videos; incredibly intuitive
No image stabilization; poor color; pricey for its features
The pocket-sized Flip camcorder was one of the top tech toys of summer 2008, and it spawned a host of equally diminutive copycat products – not to mention our own
In case you didn't have enough reasons to worry about videos of your escapades showing up online, Flip Video has made video posting easier than ever. The Flip Mino, the latest in the Flip series of pocket camcorders, is smaller and sleeker than the Flip Ultra, and it adds MySpace integration for...
