Got the Ionic as a gift for the wife and she absolutely loves it. She loves how she can load and listen to music without using her phone and all the tracking features it has. Also the in built gps is a real bonus.

Bought this for the spouse as we cycle. The spouse uses it for keeping track of calories and steps as well. Easy to setup, durable as well. It doesn't get 5 stars due that initially the band would just detach. Finally figured out you better use the right size band or it will not stay together.
The watch is great to use as a fitness monitor. However, as a smart watch it is lacking in features. I cannot use the Fitbit Pay APP, because my bank is not on the Fitbit list. I can see my Texts and Messages, but I cannot reply like I can on my Samsung Gear S2.
after a week and a half, the blue tooth stopped. When it says Android and windows 10 there are some other specifics. Basically if you don't have an IPAD, or someother "I" product IFIT is not your fit.
The device brings most of the features and data from the excellent Fitbit app and brings them to your wrist in living colour. And like the Fitbit trackers, Ionic can count your steps, tell you how many calories you've burnt and also tell you how well you slept.
Great design; nice screen; exceptional fitness companion; excellent Fitbit app; amazing battery life
Expensive; hard to sync music; can't see the time while working out
Fitbit has long been a leader in the activity tracker market, and is now taking on the smartwatch market with its Fitbit Ionic. While some of us have been mounting high tech wearables on our wrist since 2004, others are just discovering them. The Fitbit Ionic brings everything I have wanted in a GPS sports watch with essential smart watch functionality in a sleek, attractive form factor.
Gorgeous high quality design; Bright and clear display; Lightweight and comfortable for 24 hour wear; Long battery life; Detailed sleep and heart rate data; Reasonably priced band options; Music playback; workout coaching; and accurate GPS tracking; Fitbit ecosystem well supported
Limited music services; Can't respond to texts or answer calls
"The Ionic is Fitbit's first 'smartwatch' and is a capable performer. The optical heart rate falls short on point-to-point accuracy but this isn't unique to Ionic"
Looks; UI app integration
Bluetooth does not extend to external sensors; optical heart rate falls short on point to point accuracy
There's a lot that we really like about Fitbit's first smartwatch, but ultimately the software niggles make it difficult to put it in the same bracket as the Apple Watch, the best that Android Wear has to offer and Samsung's Gear smartwatches right now.
Four day battery life; Solid sports tracking; Guided workouts; Fitbit Pay
Buggy software; Too many TBC features; Design will divide; Inconsistent heart rate
