Fitbit Alta HR

The Fitbit Alta is about as chic as fitness trackers come. And the equally chic Alta HR ($149.95) adds continuous heart rate monitoring and better sleep tracking to the mix in order to close the gap between it and Fitbit's more hard-core offerings.

Long battery life; More in-depth sleep tracking and insights over its predecessor; Accurate heart rate and step count readings; Slim and comfortable to wear 24/7 with plenty of band options

Screen is occasionally unresponsive; Buckle feels a bit flimsy; No altimeter; Lacks GPS

Love my Fitbit Alta

I was given one for Christmas and I love it! Only problem with these fitbits is the bands tend to come loose or undone. I lost my fitbit because of this, I would definitely recommend getting a one of the other bands that actually has a clasp.

Great step tracker

Great to use for tracking my steps a d exercise. Didn't like the band. Purchased watch band buckle type straps to feel more secure and not lose it.

Fitbit Alta HR review

The Alta HR is Fitbit's most stylish heart-rate tracker to date. It lacks an altimeter for stair and hill climbing stats, but its 24/7 heart-rate monitor will help you get fitter, lose weight, and better monitor your sleep.

Fitbit Alta review: a basic but stylish step counter

Will Alta your perception of cheap fitness trackers? No. But it's a sleek, attractive fitness tracker that works well. Also, your friends probably have a Fitbit as well, so you can compete against them in "fun" fitness leaderboards. You really can't go wrong with a Fitbit, is what we're saying.

More attractive design options; Leading ecosystem; Excellent app

Not for serious athletes; Screen slightly laggy; Still quite thick

Fitbit Alta review

This slimmed-down stylish tracker delivers basic data but lacks a beating heart.

Genuinely motivating step reminders; Accurate sleep-monitoring; Excellently connected app; Grown-up form factor

No waterproofing; No heart rate monitor; Screen collects scratches

Positive Steps

Great value for money. I bought the Fitbit to monitor my sleep pattern in particular. Aware I wasn't getting the benefit. Over the last few weeks I've noticed an improvement. Maybe it's knowing I need more than 5hrs. In between the awake.

I really like this fitbit. It's relatively discreet so it's not bulky and I like how slim it is.The features are great and are really helpful when synced with the app on your phone.

Fitbit Alta - A very wearable wearable

Fitbit makes good fitness trackers, but so does everybody these days .You can buy an AUD$20 fitness band from Xiaomi and it will count your steps with a reasonable degree of accuracy, or you can buy a AUD$500 Apple Watch and it will also count your steps with a reasonable degree of accuracy.

Looks great; leather bands are great; Fantastic battery life; Polished companion apps

Premium price; No water resistance; Slow to respond screen

Great for monitoring sleep patterns

I have had this fitbit for a month now. I purchased it primarily to get a gleaning of my sleep patterns, such as REM and deep sleep stages. I was pleasantly surprised at the detail provided by the fitbit in this area, particularly the many 'awake' stages occurring during my sleep which might be...
