I loved this game and think it was one of the better Fight Night games. I wish EA would make more. The story mode was a nice addition but I wish they didn't make some of the fighters DLC. Especially when they were free on Fight Night Round 2.

Before the launch of Fight Night Champion there was a lot talk regarding the changes within the game. As a die-hard fan of the series since it's beginnings I was expecting a lot. While EA Sports delivered needed changes, they also tinkered with things that were perfectly fine.

Much in the same way that THQ have managed to monopolise the wrestling genre since No Mercy , so too has EA SPORTS' Fight Night series been the only one you can really turn to for satifying boxing action.

Stunning presentation; Tweaks to Legacy Mode are welcome; Champion Mode is a big winner..

...but really very short; Control system might not be to everyone's taste; Punching now a bit too responsive; footwork seems really sluggish at times

In comparison to other mainstream sports, boxing is perhaps underrepresented in video games. It seems that the sport can't support an annual franchise even though yearly iterations are the norm for FIFA, NFL, NHL, NBA (until recently, at least), MLB and now even mixed martial arts games.

Fight Night Champion does so many things right. Online multiplayer has been expanded while the new Champion Mode adds some much needed variation and dynamism. In many ways, it accounts for the shortcomings of its predecessor and provides solutions.

Where's the epic ridiculous finishing move when you need it?! To be fair to the game, it makes you work for you victories (if you don't just sit on the amateur levels...) Goodness. I'ma need a lie down after this one.

fight night champion manages to be very accessible to new players, while still maintaining the usual features of the series. one significant improvement is the use of the face buttons to punch, which i found were much easier to use than the right stick controls.

great graphics; good controls; excellent presentation and an impressive roster

poor career mode; no longevity for casual fans
