What a great game! Really enjoyed this game, it was such a refreshing change from guns and jeeps. It has a superb atmosphere I am just gutted I have completed it!

The first person shooter genre has seen a large shift in focus to modern or futuristic style games over the last few years, mostly leaving the past behind.
Uncommon setting; Versatile weapons; Dynamic day/night system; Beast master skills
Disappointing story; Repetitive missions
Far Cry Primal feels less like the prior two games in the series, and honestly compares more directly to something like Blood Dragon . Like BD, Primal is a single player only experience that tries out a new setting and offers a mix of old and new mechanics based on its theme.
Far Cry Primal is everything you'd expect a Far Cry game to be without a lot of the things you've always known to be part of a Far Cry game. No guns, no vehicles, no explosions. Despite the omission of these and the implementation of clubs, bee bombs, Sabretooth Tiger sic' ems and more this is 100%...
Highly immersive; Stunning graphics and lighting; Strong character performances; Prehistoric weaponry is a blast; Breathes new life into the series
Thin and predictable plot; Forced subtitles can pull you out of the experience; A ton of repetitive missions
Far Cry Primal is a great diversion in the series that successfully takes you back to a simpler yet equally as dangerous era!
Ubisoft nearly fooled me. For the first few hours of Far Cry Primal , I firmly believed this was an all-new experience. The prehistoric setting was something I hadn't seen before (no, Turok fans, those games don't count). The realistic crafting seemed to challenge me to be more creative.
It appeared to be uncharted territory for a first-person title..
..; until I realized it was sort of identical to any other Far Cry title
I do honestly really love this game but most people have said what needs to be said about what is good (It looks great, it sounds great, it plays great etc.) I'll just add the problems I had with it. The first and most obvious is the story which is just really short and boring.
Ubisoft's Far Cry Primal is to the Far Cry series what Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was to its own franchise. It bears the name, some trace elements, and a technical prowess unlike anything else of its ilk, but it draws strength from flying in the face of all conventional logic of its pedigree.
It's refreshing when a franchise tries to change up its formula. Far Cry isn't exactly the most prolific franchise on the market, but 2014's Far Cry 4 was starting to feel too familiar.
