Far Cry 3 PC

All in all then, there's little (aside the aforementioned uPlay) to specifically dissuade PC owners from picking this up.

An excellent PC port; Superb motion capture; A fun open-world paradise; Excellent shooting and crafting

Disjointed narrative; Occasional glitches; Poor side-quest content

Look, I know how dangerous the fauna in our particular part of the world can be. I've known the fear of seeing snakes in the wild, I've been chased by cows, I've swum with sharks. I patted a tiger once, but that was at Dreamworld and I'm not sure it counts.

Far Cry 3 review

Jason Brody’s descent into the madness of the Rook islands makes for one of the year's best open world experiences. Nat Crouch explains.

Largely strong narrative dealing with unconventional issues; Beautiful game with striking visuals and strong character animation; Engaging, rewarding stealth combat

Multiplayer, Co-op are generic; Story doesn't quite come together as well as anticipated; Too many missions that are too easy to fail

Far Cry 3

Ridiculous. This is the one word that perfectly embodies the incredible experience that is Far Cry 3 . It permeates every aspect of the game, peeks out from behind every mechanic, and saturates every struggle in the game, be it the meta-narrative or an intense firefight.

Lush visuals; truly open-ended gameplay; no skill point starvation; a plethora of activities and missions to engage in; emergent gameplay; cool skill-tree; outpost captures are awesome

Illogical at times; story starts strong but stagnates quickly; infrequently quirky AI

Far Cry 3, better than 2, not as good as 1

I really really loved Far Cry 3. The Far Cry series has been very difficult for me to quantify, as the first game is my favorite game of all time, and the second... Well, we don't talk about the second. Far Cry 3 falls in between the two, but it definitely gets closer to the first.

Best sandbox-style FPS at the moment. Huge and beautiful open world to explore (Though it feels repetitive after some time.) A nice selection of weapons, which you can customize with different attachments and color patterns.

Far Cry 3 Review (PC)

The FPS masters return, with a world beating bit of FPS gameplay. Far Cry 3 slipped a little under the radar for many people – nestled at the thick end of the release calendar, and tucked behind the final Assassins Creed episode (itself from Ubisoft too, no less) and the mighty CODBLOPS2, the Crytek...

Huge; brilliant gameplay allows the gamer to really play how they want to; graphics and sound are incredible; even on the lower settings; dynamic world is not only believable and immersive; but prone to change the game on the fly; storyline is great; and drags that player in; huge amount of other...

Overshadowed a little due to a crowded release window; 3D doesn't work yet; Day 1 patch is essential; co-op can be a bit of a grind at times

Far Cry 3 Review

Far Cry 3 is a delightful and harsh tropical wonderland, crawling with wildlife and threatened by the pirates and drug runners that disrupt its peace. The troubled paradise you explore is colorful and wild, enticing you to investigate its ravines and discover new ways to enjoy the open-world...

A huge tropical world stuffed with fun things to do; Ecology and unpredictable creatures make the world come alive; Stealth and action come together in rewarding ways; Role-playing elements and difficulty curve give a sense of momentum; Great structure leads you from one activity to the next

Some design quirks lead to minor frustrations; Certain story elements break the immersion

Far Cry 3 – Review (360, PS3, PC)

It says something about games writers' states of mind when they come up with characters like the ones you'll meet in Far Cry 3. Straight away Ubisoft sets the tone to dark and nasty with a sun- and alcohol-drenched vacation that goes disturbingly wrong, and tosses you into an island paradise to...
